  • Set the dog hair clippers to the 9-10 setting. Use this setting to clip your dog's undercarriage. Undercarriage refers to your dog's armpits, **** area up to the tail, and stomach.
  • Set the clippers to the 7-8 setting. Clip your dog's legs and paws with this setting.
  • Use a comb to pull your dog's hair away from the eye and muzzle area. Set the clippers back to the 9-10 setting and clip all around his face, ears and head.
  • Rinse your dog with clean water or give him a shampoo to remove all of the excess hair you clipped off. Blow drying him may be necessary if it's during the colder months of the year.

What kinds of dogs will not benefit from wearing clothes?

Dogs with long hair should not dress up with dog clothes because the clothes tend to restrict their mobility. Also, dogs with long hair do not require warming clothes like short haired dogs, which aren't able to warm themselves up properly during the cold weather.

What is a slicker brush and how do I properly use it when grooming my dog?

A slicker brush is a tool designed to help remove matts in your dogs hair, while at the same time pulling out dead hair, removing layers of dead skin cells and promoting healthy circulation. To use a slicker brush, run the brush over the coat of your dogs hair in the same direction as the grain of the hair. Avoid using the slicker brush around your dogs face and ears.

What is the best pet grooming tool besides shampoo?

My favorite grooming tool is the mitt. It is a glove that you wear and swipe alongyour dog's coat. It is good for allkinds of dogs, big, small, and even smooth or wire haired. It is rubber so it collects stray hairswithout scratching your dog. Dependingon how much hair it collects, they tend to stay on the mitt and not to falloff.

I have an A5 clipper, with three blades. I have had difficulty with this clipper, ever since I bought it. I have a schnauzer with very fine, soft hair, a bouvier, with very thick hair, and a Lakeland...

hi, on some ocassions when the clippers get hot the metal gear shaft moves meaning the movement of the clipper is limited, you can remove they gears in the gearbox when its hot and see if there is any side to side movement.

I have an Oster dog clipper Model 103582-010-000 and would like to know what blades I can use, also where I can get an owners manual. Thanks, Dan

    Blades are available online at
    Oster

    OR

    CacheBeauty.com

But once the plastic clip that mounts the blade to the unit brakes you are screwed. Oster can't supply that anymore. You can always sharpen the blades and make sure you keep them lubricated going forward. Google sharpening clipper blades to find instructions.

I lost my job, and am in need of dog haircut instructions.

I had a dog with hair. I couldn't afford to take her to the groomers, so I bought an Oster Animal Hair clippers and just buzzed off the hair myself. They have little attachments to go on so they don't cut so short. If you mess up, the hair grows out. My kids used to laugh at some of the hair cuts. I had to train Buttons to hold her head very still when I cut around her eyes. That part scared me, but she did hold still. Some times I had to let her run around awhile and come back to the hair cut in 10 minutes. I also had to train her to lay on her back for the tummy & chest trim. She never did like the toenail trim though. I had to sit on her to get it done. Luckily she was only 13 lbs. I did her hair twice a year and sometimes 3 times. I used the scissors on her feet too. Check at Fleet Farm, Target, or Sally's Beauty Supply for cutting tools.

I cant get my new clippers to cut my dogs hair. How do I adjust them?

Could you please be more specific in what the clippers are or are not actually doing? Are they stopping when you attempt to clip the dog? Is the blade just gliding through the fur? What setting do you have the clippers on? Has the dog been bathed and combed? With a little more information I will be better able to help you.

    Thank you,
