Check your fan belt, water thermostat, radiator, water, oil,. The best one is to overhaul your radiator or replace new one.

How do i change my auto tranny oil on 1991 subaru

THere is a dran plug on the left side of the tranmission oil pan. These transmission hold alot of oil and it could be very hot, so be careful. You need to change the filter too and these are quite expensive. When re-filling

After driving for about 4-6 hours the temp rises

You should have your a/c system ck'd. Reason could be excessive system pressure and temp. This would explain the a/c safety turning off the a/c and the temp rise of the engine cooling system. Good Luck.

1996 Subaru Legacy overheating in strange way

Was the water pump brand new or rebuilt? I have seen rebuilts fail on the first test drive.
Before pulling the head, I would take it to a shop and request a CO2 test to check for combustion gasses in the cooling system. Shouldn't cost more than $30 and is a pretty definative test.

I have a 98 Subaru outback legacy with 151,000 miles. I've had it for roughly 5 months in which time I had the head gasket, radiator, and rear main seal replaced. I live in MN, after the last round of...

I would make sure the Termostat u instaled is correct. Also have the Coolant system flushed and replaced. The gauge may not be reading properly which could be the sending unit. You have already replaced the main components that fail. Hope this helps and have a great day.
