Question about Nikon Cameras

1 Answer

MY Nikon D3000 was OK for five days' shooting in Paris. Then I removed the battery to charge it. When I placed the battery back, the camera would not turn on. I checked the battery on another camera and it had power. What could be wrong with my camera?

This sounds like you have a power pcb problem in the camera. If the battery works in another camera as you said then the problem is definitely in the camera. If the camera is less than one year old then I suggest you send in for warranty service to your closest authorized service center. I use photo tech in nyc, ny for all my repairs. Good luck

I tried to charge the battery of my Nikon D3000 while in the camera and now the camera is dead. Did I blow the battery or the camera?

Yes, I'd say you blew either the battery or the camera. Just how did you try to charge the battery in the camera? Depending on how you tried this (and on how lucky you are) you may have blown just the battery. On the other hand, you may have blown the camera. Or both.

Can someone help me on my nikon D3100 freeze problem?

New battery that is fully charged. My Nikon D3100 has had the problem of freezing every ten or so pics since it was a couple of months old. Still does it today after six months of use. I take a few hundred pics with it when shooting but only shoot once or maybe twice a month.

Have to take the battery out, put it back in etc. each time. Sometimes it allows me to power off and then back on but either way it's a pain in the rear and a serious "time waster".

7 days ago i took my battery off to charge my camera and its fully chrged i put it back onto the camera and it just wont start up. I bought another battery and fully charged it aso and it wont turn on!...

Please make sure that the battery is clean and also the terminals within are clean. If you had been using the camera prior to the charging then the camera must work unless if the battery was spoiled by wrong charging. If you can use a multimeter to check the voltage which must be as specified on the battery label. Now make sure that the battery gets good contacts into the camera when inserted. If this wont work then it possible that there are errors within the camera and you need help from the nearest Nikon the link below

On my D3000 once taken a shoot, monitor displays error. press shutter relase button again.

Press the button again. If it doesn't work, take the battery out and put it back in a while. If this doesn't work, reset the camera with the reset button.

If all this fails the problem has to be taken care of by authorized dealer repair shop.

I have a nikon d3000. At first I was able to look through the LCD monitor and see what I was going to shoot, but now it just stays a black screen.

The Nikon D3000 does not have a Live View mode that allows you to see what you're going to shoot in the LCD screen. If you thought you saw something, my best guess is that you were mistaken.

How to remove the battery from nikon d3000

the little trap door on the bottom houses both the memory card and the battery. you have to push the battery slightly to release it. i fond the easiest way at that point is to tip the camera and the battery usually slides right out.

I have a D3000 and a Scan Disk Ultra 8 GB memorycard. Sometimes when I push the button to take a picture nothing happens. Is my memorycard too small?

Have you formatted the card on the camera that it is being used on? Sometimes, the camera may not like how the card is formatted at the factory.

Each time when I am done with a shoot, I transfer my photos to my computer, format the cards, and recharge all the batteries. This way, the next time I go on a shoot, all I have to do is pick up my camera bag, and I know that my cards are okay, and my batteries are charged.

Nikon D3000 Monitor is black when taking a picture - any way to change it?

You can get the shooting information on it. If you're looking to use the D3000 as a point&shoot by viewing the image on the screen, then no, you have to use the viewfinder.
