Question about Cameras
If the camera was dropped into salt water, "game over" fresh water! then the device must be stripped down in the first hour to have a chance, all parts must be cleaned with an alcohol base solution to remove water stains from boards and lens. The ic pins will corrode quickly and move into the casing making the camera unusable, I suggest you don't sink any money into the item because the damage from your description indicates it is already to late.

The camera will function for a while, hours, days, and weeks until it breaks down. Unfortunately all camera's comes apart in different ways, you could try going on line to Sanyo site, and go to customer support and ask for the technical department, it might be possible to get a download of the service manual if they are willing. But to be honest! I have done alot of electronic repairs that got wet and in almost all cases they failed.

Thanks for your answer. I forgot to mention that the camera works just fine execpt the stains on the lens. I have tried to strip it but could not get in to it without, as I felt, breaking it. If I could get some kind of step to step guide it would help me alot.
