Make sure the unit is dry. If you have a blower I would blow it dry to make sure there is no water on any of the electronics. After that it shouldn't hurt to plug it in.

Corded electric mower loses power then comes back on during use

Same likely answer from several possibilities. Likely to be a poor electrical contact. Check *the supply had good contact for plug and an adequate fuse. *possible loose contact in the handle switch *if several years old, possible worn carbon brushes in motor. Easy to replace. *You should be using an RCD cut out switch. Check if mower works without it. Replace if dodgy
NB Only try to fix last two if you know what you are doing!

There is an oil reservoir on top of the diff. 10/40 engine oil or 10/50 if it seems like it is slipping in hot weather.
If there there are no oil leaks, then it should still be full.
It has no effect on the engine.
I would check the ignition switch for dirty contacts if it stops once the key is returned to On from the Start position.
Try disconnecting the electrical connections on the seat and transmission to see if that's the problem.
I always disconnect them anyway. I hate it when I need to get off the machine to move an object and have to restart each time.

Batter life in the second season

When batteries are only used seasonally, and they are stored, they can become damaged from weather or from storing them when they are not fully charged. In general, batteries used seasonally will have a shorter lifespan, so it sounds like you likely need a new battery. Check out http://www.batteryinternational.com/electric-lawn-maintenance-batteries.html for a replacement, and be sure to charge it fully before storing.
