How to test decompression valve stihl chainsaw

Sounds like a valve that releases some or all of the compression during starting, to make ripping the cord easier. When the engine fires it is supposed to close automatically & allow the engine to start. They can become faulty mechanically (broken spring) or they can become clogged with combustion junk, esp if run the oil too rich. This will make starting difficult or impossible. Best fix is to replace with new or re-manufactured if you can get.

Is there a decompression valve on a 2005 660 Yamaha Grizzly?

Most likely not and if there was it would be built into the valves/cam or you wold have a lever you would need to operated the decompression valve just to start it normally with the starter...

268 stuck decompression valve

You can remove the decompression valve,it just screws into the cylinder. You can either replace if its broken or you can blank them off.

Wont kick over

Does the decompression valve operate when the lever is moved? As the engine turns over easily with the plug out, but not with it in, I would have to suspect the decomp valve,

Husqvarna 345 decompression valve

The345 should have a blue push in deco valve on the r/h side of the cylinder, if not there may be a 13mm blanking screw there, this can be removed and a deco valve fitted.

Put new decompression valve in , when pulling the pullcord there's no compression ,it justs jams

Check to make sure the old valve didn't have part of it fall down on top of the piston. I just had that exact thing happen to a TS400 in my shop for service.

I have an xr250r 1996 but wen i kick start it thers no compression but can run start it sweet and theres heaps of compression how can i fix this problem

First , check your compression with a compression tester. It should be at least 100 pounds pressure just to run. Preferably 120,130,140,etc.. Some motorcycles have a decompression cable that works off the kick lever, others have a decompression lever you hand operate. I believe yours is hand operated . I think the actual lever in the valve cover on top of the motor is sticking or the decompression cable itself is hanging up and not allowing the exhaust valve to close properly.

hold the decompression lever in and kick it slow then let go of the decompression lever and give it a good kick without using the decompression lever.
