Since the inception of AVR's and the need for user setup from a listening position the remote and a basic TV video connection are indispensable.

Given the aftermarket price of remotes, I can see why you ask.

i'll give you a tip about optical sound.
if the socket glows red it's an output, if it doesn't then its an input.....optical sockets don't work two way, like some people seem to think.
other then that try selecting the optical channel using the source button.

Eventually you will purchase a replacement remote or maybe a universal remote that will operate your Apex player

I need the manufacturer's code for SANSUI Model COM3101A in order to program my Comcast remote.

The remote control that you use for your Comcast box will not operate all functions of the TV sice its a combo model. Your best bet is to purchase a universal remote control from the following website. There are 3 different versions of your TV's model number so make sure you choose the correct one for proper operation. Good luck

HOW DO I OPERATE THE TV WITHOUT USING THE REMOTE

Solutions: 1) on the side of the TV there should be buttons to operate functions such as volume or channel.
2) purchase a replacement remote
3) purchase an all in one / multi function remote, and program it using the codes provided in the manual

Philips universal remote codes

For the universal remotes, most of the models have their own code proprietary set. There is no industry standard. You must look in the romote's instructions to have the proper code settings.

Not all universal remotes will work with all models of TV sets. The combinations of the protocols for the codes are in the many thousands!

You will find that with the universal remotes they are very limited to accessing the features in the set. The universal remotes are only good for the basic functions. You will need the original remote to do any serious operations and to access the internal menus of your set.

Call the manufacture support for your set to find out how you can order the original. You would be better off.

Marantz 6200

Your unit's micro IC, is in need of a reset.Un-plug the unit and locate the semi large yellow capactor on the main board. (r-h side facing front) Now flip the unit over and look thru the vent holes in that same area and locate the two solder pins. Short them out with a thin metal object, like a straightened out paper clip or wire, and turn it over (just discharge the cap and remove your wire) this will default all settings and restore normal operation.
