Question about Dell Latitude D610 Notebook

1 Answer

How do you replace the Dell logo at the back of your lid? I want to make my own physical image (probably glowing) and put it at the back of the screen but I'm not sure if it's possible to remove the native Dell logo from there. Thank you in advance!

The Dell logo you see at the time booting is the logo of your motherboard manufacturer. It uses the image associated with the program that helps you in booting your computer. If you want to change it, you should have proper knowledge of computer programming and IT. All you need to do is to identify the proper programs associated with the Dell logo and then hack the corresponding .exe or .dll files and replace the image with your own one in correct image format.

Hope this helps,

Mrityunjay.

Can i use a Lexmark mx810 imaging unit in a Dell B5465 printer? They appear to be the same part just different color.

They are probably physically the same but there are chips pn the units and the printer knows the difference so you will need to use the correct units or get reset chips that are programmed with the dell info

How do I back up my files on my Dell Inspiron 530?

Dell provide something they call "Dell PC Restore" or "Dell Factory Image Restore", which lives on a partition of your hard drive, and puts the operating system and drive back to their pristine state.
On my machine, I press Ctrl-F11 while the Dell logo is visible at start-up, and it gets me into the restore menu.Oh I see. That sounds like an auto-reformat. Quite nifty.
I wonder how they protect that partition? Viruses can be sneaky.

Dell in inspiron 1545 wireless adaptor not turning on

Without knowing your exactyour Operating System, I cannot point you, directly, to your download. I can, however, bring you to the Inspiron 1545 Update Download page. Which is actually a better choice, as it contains all updates and upgrades and firmware for every device in your model:

First: be sure your physical On/Off switch is on. That will either be located on the left, front or right edge of your computer.

Dell also uses the Fn+F2 combination, on some models (without a physical switch).

If you have a Radio Tower Logo on your F2 key; hold down your function key and tap the F2 key (the same Radio image you see on your Fn Key - left of space bar). If it has a circle with a strike through it (Like a no smoking sign) that means your Wireless Radio is OFF.

To turn it ON simply hold down your Fn Key, again, and Tab the F2 key again until you only see the Radio Tower Image, without the Circle Strike Through Image; that means it is On...

**NOTE: Be Certain to minimize ALL windows to see the image when pressing Fn+F2:

1. Select <Operating System> from the drop-down menu on this page
2. Scroll to <Network>
3. Click the + Sign Left of network
4. Choose <Wireless Network Adapter>
5. Select Download Using Browser (if you only wish to do 1 upate).

Thank You For Choosing FixYa~!

My Dell won't boot up at all. Tried booting up in safe mode and everything. Nothing seems to work.

Press F8 the moment you see Dell logo screen and select Last Known Good Configuration. If it still doesn't boot to windows, your operating system might be corrupted and needs reinstallation.

Dell systems has an Image Restore options. In Vista, press F8 on the Dell Logo Screen and select repair your computer. If you're running on XP, Press Ctrl+F11 to boot from the Factory Image Restore partition. Follow the instructions carefully to restore system back to factory image.

I have 5 Dell 4310 WX projecors and I would like to display my logo when they start-up. Can this be done with the projector only or is a laptop necessary for this to happen?

I believe the Dell logo is hard-coded for the Startup, but you can change the Wallpaper form the Dell logo, to an image of your choice:

From the Setup Menu, or Others Menu, you can go into:
SCREEN SETTINGS—Select and press checkmark to activate screen settings. The screen
settings menu consists of the following options:

CAPTURE SCREEN—Select and press checkmark to capture the screen display, the following message appears on the screen.

NOTE: To capture a full image, ensure the input signal that is connected to the projector is 1280 x 800 resolution.

SCREEN—Select Dell to use the Dell logo as wallpaper. Select Captured to set the captured image as wallpaper.

RESET—Select and press to delete the captured picture and set back to the default setting.

Dell inspiron blinking orange battery light. keybrd not respondg

Try this: remove your battery, unplug power, press and hold power button for at least 20 seconds, plug power cord back in but not the battery, press power and see if you get normal boot. If this is the case, your battery probably needs replaced.

Dell Inspiron B130 DVD RW problems

First thing you need to check is whether the issue happens only if you are logged in to Windows or not. For you to check if it also happens outside of Windows, insert the Windows Operating System disk (XP or Vista) then shutdown the computer. Turn it back on. As soon as you see the Dell Logo, keep on pressing F12. Then select "CD/DVD ROM" from the choices and press enter. When you see the prompt "Press any key to boot from the CD", keep on tapping the "Enter" key. If your CD/DVD drive is working fine, you should see a page that'd say "Windows is loading files". If not then the system is not detecting your drive. Then check the BIOS page. F2 on the Dell Logo. Then look for Drive Configuration. If the drive isn't there, reseat it. Physically remove the drive from the computer and put it back in. Then restart.
