I think this may be the result of the incorrect/corrupted/backdated graphics driver. Please update your graphics drivers to the latest ones in proper way and let me know what happens.

Hope this helps,

What is the button for the square root?

2nd [square-root]

The 2nd is the shift key at the upper-left corner of the screen. The square root is the shifted function of the x^2 key, just to the left of the 7 key.

Blank Blue square on left hand corner of the screen ??

It might not be the same issue, but we had a blue square in the upper left hand corner of our hanspree. To fix it, either press the button headed 'pip' or go into menu, down to calibration and then uncheck the box titled 'pip' there. I hope this sorta yours as it did ours.

My projection hitachi tv has a blank square showing up on the upper left hand corner. it shows up on all tv channels, but is fine when using DVD. What is the problem?

Sounds like you have Picture in Picture enabled. It doesn't show when viewing DVD because the DVD is the PIP. Just turn PIP off, there should be a button for it on the remote.

What do i push to find the square root of a number

First the "2ND" key at the upper left corner, then the "x^2" key just to the left of the "7" key. That key is labeled with a square-root symbol just above the key.

TI 84 plus calculator, flashing dot in upper left hand corner

Hello,

When you turn the calculator on, its screen is cleared, save for a small square on the top left corner. This is the cursor and it is blinking: The calculator is waiting for you to order it to perform some calculation.

Try this simple operation
[1] [+] [1] [ENTER]. The calculator will display the result one line down justified to the right.

Hope it helps.

Wondering why(like many others here) I can't play videos on my computer anymore? I get a blank screen with a square/triangle/and circle in a little box in the upper left corner of a blank screen..

90% of the time this is due to your not having the correct codecs installed or windows media player (or whatever client you use0 being unable to download them.

A free codec pack is available here

http://www.free-codecs.com/K_lite_codec_pack_download.htm

I suggest you choose the full version 5 and install with the default settings.

Grid surrounding cursor and desktop icons

You have accidentally enabled "Universal Access"
Open System Preferences from either the dock or the pull down menu under the Apple in the upper left hand corner of your screen.

In System Preferences the 4th line down should have icons for "System" one of those icons (usually the right most) will be a blue circle with a person in it. This is "Universal Access"

Open Universal access and turn voice over and zoom off.
