You would need a step-down transformer from 220 volts to 110 volts. Also you need to consider the Frequency as USA uses 110-115V 60Hz and many countries around the world use 220-240V 50Hz. In addition you need a physical wall plug adapter so you can plug the power cord into the wall. These are not very expensive but get the proper kind. Generally it is a good idea to buy a TV over there which is more compatible.

Sony KDL40S2010 Bravia LCD TV... turns off / on on it's own

If TV does not remain in standby and turns on itself then power switch on top of it could be defective and power supply board is also suspected. Take off its back cover and unplug top switch connector just to confirm is that cause of On-Off its own. If problem still exist then power supply board has problem and will be replaced. Let me know the results to move forward.

BOSE DOESNT TURN ON AFTER PLUGGING TO A 220-240V PLUG AND ITS ONLY 120 VOLTS

It sounds like you hav blown a fuse. Hopefully just a fuse, connecting a 110 to a 240 will hurt.
Most equipment survives short term high voltage but sometimes it just can't take it.
if it's not the fuse then it's very likely damaged the power supply which will require the expert help of a technician..
good luck !
Ps the 321 is a very nice bit of kit..
