I also forgot to mention, you actually DO immerse the DS into the rice. And cover the DS with some sort of cover. This will allow the rice to soak up any moisture in the air, and/or your DS system.

What to do when you accidently spill water on your Ds Dsi or Dsi XL

Dry it out as soon as you can and DO NOT try and turn it on while its wet otherwise, it will be fried. If you did what i told you not to before you read this, first of all try getting a new battery. Order one and see if you can still play. If you cant, send your Ds,Dsi, or Dsi XL to Nintendo and they will fix your Ds. Hope this helped! :D

My son dropped his dsi xl in the loo and he tried pushing the power button to turn it off. I've blower dried it. I haven't be able to take it apart to dry out, but now I have it in a bag with rice....

First you want to keep it plugged in and start it. If it doesn't start, let it charge and try again. If it still doesn't start you might want to call and check if you have warranty over it, and then send it back to get it replaced. That or get a new one all together.

Why won't my sons acekard work on his dsi xl, it says there is an error, i just bought the acekard and it was working on my other sons dsi xl but not my other sons dsi xl. what am i suppose to do.

Hi Fey,

This is probably because you've updated your DSi console to the 1.4.3 firmware. If you take a look at the Acekard 1.4.3 Update page on the R4 DS card website at it should explain the Acekard in some detail.

If you use a DS Lite or a pre-1.4.3 DSi (you may need to borrow from a friend) you may be able to update it, but otherwise buying a new pre-updated card will do the trick just as well.

I personally shop at but that's cause I now live in the US, if you're in the UK/Europe I'd recommend them instead since their shipping's a bit cheaper but both of them are authorised retailers with decent customer support so whichever you choose it'll still be fine :-)

Also, I think this still works - on use the voucher "dsmagazine" gets you 10% off. Not sure when it lasts till though, I found it in NDS Gaming magazine, so use it while you can! I think there's a minimum spend of $20 or $25 but most cards plus a micro SD will take you over that anyway. They stock pretty awesome cards like the Cyclo iDS and Supercard DSTWO so it's not too difficult.

Good luck! Please upvote my answer if I've been helpful. :-)

I dropped my ds i xl in a sink full of water but pulled it out quickly and i am trying to dry it but i tryed to turn it on while it was wet

Unfortunately the water might have short circuited your Dsi. What happened is that there is all this water in there, and then you sent an electric current through your Dsi and it short circuited. What I would recommend doing is immersing your Dsi in a bowl a dry uncooked rice, make sure it is covered. The rice will soak up the moisture and hopefully get all the water out. Hopefully your Dsi might recover but unfortunately there is a slim chance. Next time anything like this happens always wait until you dry everything before you turn it on. I'm not sure whether the manufacturer has a warranty or a policy in the case of getting a Dsi wet. I would call whoever holds your warranty with it.

Good luck!

I have a nintendo dsi xl that has water damage and when i turn it all right before it turns on to the main screen it goes in sleep mode and i dont shut it its open and everything

Water damage usually spells the end for any gadget, but you can try the following and see if it helps.
Put the DSi into a warm, dry place (usually a hot press or something similar). Make sure it is not too hot as you will just burn out the DSi. Place a bowl of plain white rice beside the DSi and leave for 12 hours. Repeat with a fresh bowl of rice for another 12 hours if the problem persists.
Please bear in mind that the rice is there to soak up any water vapor in the air, it's not going to magically fix your DS but it is a tried and tested way to dry out gadgets of this kind.
Best of luck!

My son has a DSI xl and we want to get connected to the internet

Cool! To connect your son's DSi XL to the internet, you'll need to use its built-in WiFi card to connect to your home's wireless internet. This is really easy to set up from the settings of the DSi, assuming you have a wireless router or nearby wireless access point.
You can find more information directly from Nintendo's website here:
Good luck!
