Question about Air Intake & Fuel Delivery for Aston Martin DB7

2 Answers

The car is a 1996 DB7 with only 37500 miles on the clock. Recently had a big service, The problem is sometimes the car loses power and will not rev above 3000 rpm. If I take it up to 3000 rpm whilst the car is stationery the engine hunts revs between 2600 - 3000. Another time I can get in the car and it is fine. My thoughts are with fuel i.e pump or possibly filter. The car was low on fuel recently but not out of fuel.

I'd start with fuel filter and run a good fuel system cleaner through it. And avoid running fuel too low, fuel acts as a coolant for electric fuel pump

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

You need the transmission tested for fault codes, it is computer shifted, if all checks ok with the control system then you have a failing transmission that will need to be rebuilt.

Check and see if it has thrown any codes. Autozone will hook up their OBD for free. My thinking it is a sensor or a vacuum leak. Good luck.

Most services don't include a fuel filter. check to see if it was replaced. If not replace it. These clog up, you get sufficient pressure but not flow

On older model vehicles we start having lots of electricle issues. the current flow gets interupted and broken because ALL of our GROUND wires get corroded where they are screwed to the body or frame. it is important that these connections get sandpaper shiny cleaned and tightly screwed backin. solves many issues.

Check alternator voltage at back of alternator ( big wire ), if you have no less then 13.5 volt's, alternator is ok, check for blown alternator fuse or break at wire from back of alternator to starter then to battery, could be a bad fuse link at starter.
