Question about Garmin GPS
The larger Garmins require considerable power to charge and many non standard USB chargers will not supply enough power and respond with "use the cable supplied with the unit"

I own a Garmin also, my suggestion is plug it in to your computer, leave your computer on so it can charge up overnight. If in the morning it wont power on my suggestion would be to contact Garmin you may have a bad battery or some other internal problem. Garmins web site is www.Garmin.com Contact there Tech department to see what they would charge you to check out your unit. It has to be cheaper than buying a new one.
I hope this helps you out if so leave me some feedback.
