Question about Bachmann Easy Command Dynamis Wireless DCC Controller

Open Question

Hello Concerning Dynamis DCC E-Z Command system, there appears to be no infra-red signal between command station and handset, zero level indicated on handset LED (right hand corner) - otherwise handset batteries new and other functions, whilst ineffective are 'working'/indicating. Single green light flashes at Command Station confirming no signal (STOP button on handset has been pressed/reset). Command Station is connected by green connector block and bare wires to Peco track but no shortcircuit on track. First time use of system. So how do we fix the signal - manual refers to possibility of command station and handset not being on same channels - so how do i check / change? I assume there is no way of bypassing the IR with a line connection? Many thanks James

SOURCE: I have an HO scale

Check the engine motor and second car motor with a digital multimeter for continuity. Make sure the track is connected properly. Also probe the transformer and see if it is sending out power to the track

No power to track

I would suggest that the controller is correct and there is a short circuit. If this is so then there would not be any power on the track. Check the wiring from the controller to the track.

TV does not respond to remote commands. Remote has been verified to work as I am able to control my other LG TV. Tried a universal remote and still no response.

Then it is likely that the infra red receiver in the TV set is faulty - or possibly the 5 volt supply to the receiver.

The signals from the infra red receiver usually enter the system control integrated circuit. So if other control functions are working ok this is likely to be good.

It is possible that other equipment can block the remote signal - if another remote controller is stuck on [jammed down a crack in the sofa] or if you use energy saving lamps in the same room - they can produce high levels of infra red noise.

Please take time to rate my assistance - I hope it is useful.
