you have to pop the sides up before you push the bottom down. when you first start to put it up let the sides fall but keep the middle up. then grab the middle of sides, either length wise or width, one in right hand, opposite side in left hand and snap up. then do the same with the other two sides....then spread out four corners and press down on the center. if you let the center down at all first, the sides will never lock. Also check your lot # there was a recall on some of them

DON'T KNOW IF THIS WILL WORK YET. READ A REVIEW POSTED ON AMAZON. CONSUMER STATED TO CONTACT KIDS II. FOUND THEM ON THE WEB AND USED THE CONTACT US TAB. I JUST DID IT THIS MORNING AND THE BUSINESS HOURS ARE FROM 8-4:30 M-F I BELIEVE. TELEPHONE NUMBER IS1-800-230-8190.

hi there yes you need to pull the middle handle right up almost halfway high as cot then flip sides out they will automatically lock then close the handle x
