Oven not heating properly

Hello- Sometimes ignitors work enough to light burner, but not enough to step up gas flow at regulator. Lower burner ignitor is bad if resistance is less than 4ohms. New part through local app. parts store.- 50-75$. Ignitor is mounted next to burner under bottom pan in oven. Plug is behind pan drawer. Fairly easy to replace. hope this helps- Thanks- ED

Seized screws in Stoves 'Range 1000G Gas Range Cooker (LPG)

I let the screws soak for a few days in release oil but with no success. I decided the only way to get the seized screws out was to drill and tap new holes through the hob and into the hob burner mixing tube support flanges. This allowed new screws (stainless as opposed to the standard, chrome plated steel screws) to be screwed into place. Once this was done I then drilled out the heads of the remaining seized screws. This allowed the hob tops to be removed so that the oven thermostats could be changed. The hob screws were then screwed back into place and lubricated with loads of high temp. copper grease to prevent corrosion. I will also remove and re-grease these screws every six months or so to prevent any chance of seizure in future!

A few points to remember: (a) make sure that any holes in the hob top are sealed with something such as a screw coated with high temp fire cement etc. to prevent any possibility of unburnt LPG getting into the space below the hob top. (b) make SURE that you do not drill or tap into anything that could damage the cooker and cause a gas leak or damage any of the gas ignition leads etc. (c) Make sure that the appliance is totally 'gas tight' after doing any work which will disturb the gas connections, and (d) If you don't have gas qualifications and are not sure of what you are doing then get an expert, registered gas engineer to do the work for you. Don't take a chance with gas!!

Ignition spark on Neff hob is continuously firing - ie after the gas is lit it keeps on going. How can I stop it? Very annoying.

Neff problem where igniters dont stop...the hob top is held by the 4 knobs which pull off, then 8 small phillips screws, 2 by each burner...underneath the knobs you will find a plastic slider which has a spring...is the spring OK? does the slider slide! a little WD40 might make things go a little better, maybe stretch the spring a little and make sure that the 4 rubber seals where the knobs go thru the top are fitted correctly and don't foul the slider.
That fixed it for me. We had been putting up with that problem for years and stopping the igniter by flicking another knob. In fact it only worked properly for a few months after new.

I used some 3 in 1 oil on the plastic slider and it slid much easier allowing the spring to bring the slider back and the switch off. It is not a good design because the reactive force of the switch tends to make the slider bend up at the switch end and causes the track to bind. My guess is that is will need re-lubricating again in a while. A stronger spring might be another solution.

Smeg gas hob issues.

Ghazwan,

Relax. The problem is in the switch that is activated when you turn the gas on. It has either misaligned or broken. The gas itself is not involved. Generally, raising the top of the burner area will gain access to the switch and valve. Inspect and readjust or replace. Oh, and disconnect the electricity before touching the switch itself.

Faulty plate warmer on rangemaster 110 dual fuel

We have the same problem on a Rangemaster Toledo 110. It is not a fuse.
The 'Hot' light still comes on because that is a different (parallel) circuit.
Examination by a competent electrician has found that the soldering for the wires that power the warming metal strip under the glass is faulty. You will have to ask for a replacement part.
There may be a design flaw, so you might want to enquire about the professional all gas burner top and just use the griddle as a warming plate over the second wok burner.

Good luck.

Problem with gas double oven

im in uk not us so don't know this particular appliance. however many gas appliances turn on the ignitors for other parts than the one required - ie if one burner on a hob is lit, the other ignitors spark as well. suspect you don't really have a fault
