Did it start to do this all of a sudden?
It may be some software bug, but it most likely is from the hardware side, like your hard drive could be about to die, so if I were you i'd first make a complete backup before attempting anything else...
To clean up and speed up your computer, i'd recommend using CCleaner, if your problem is with some software, it should fix it.
Good luck!

I need a manual for hp probook 4520

As far as I can tell your HP Probook is a laptop and note a printer

If you go to and click on the support link enter your model in and what Operating System you have you will see a link to download the manual from there.

Its always been slow now it is painfully slow while printing any clue as to why? Thank you and have a happy holiday

If you have had your system set to upgrade the operating system automatically, changes that were made may have interfered with the printer's driver file. The driver interacts with the operating system so commands between them are properly interpreted.
I would try downloading and installing the HP driver file that is intended for your current operating system version. You will find the latest driver in the HP support section related to the 7960 specifically.
The link below should get you to the right area if they haven't changed it in the last few minutes:
HP 7960 support page
Be sure you get the right driver for your current operating system version otherwise the problems may become compounded.

My HP laptop (Pavilion) is running very slow. I'm afraid to download the ''TV Specials'' we see advertised. Thx, Ray

download 'ccleaner' from & run it & remember when u run it, only check the temporary files, recycle bin, recent documents....
this might speed up ur notebook...
If you are using XP or Vista, you have this. You can access the boot menu by loading your MSCONFIG. During the boot up your computer issues a time out to find new hardware and software. You can short this time to boost your startup speed.
1. Open your Start menu.
2. Click Run
3. In the command screen type msconfig
4. In the system configuration utility, click either BOOT tab.
5. In the boot menu, change the default setting for Time Out from 30 to 5 seconds.
