You're having problems with this driver because Windows 7 is not officially supported on your Sony Vaio. There's a way around this however.

1. Go here for Windows 7 32 bit video card driver for your computer: http://www.nvidia.com/object/win7-winvista-32bit-260.99-whql-driver.html

Or go here for Windows 7 64 bit video card driver for your computer: http://www.nvidia.com/object/win7-winvista-64bit-266.58-whql-driver.html

2. Select "Download".

3. Install the video card drivers. Restart computer when asked.

Good luck and thanks for using FixYa. Please post back if you have any difficulties.

If the driver installation fails, then follow these steps.

    1. Press Win+R to open Run Command.
    2. Type DEVMGMT.MSC into the dialog box and press enter.
    3. Expand "Display Adapters" and right-click on the Standard VGA Adapter and select "Update Driver".
    4. Select "Browse my computer for driver software".
    5. Select "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.
    6. Select "Have Disk" and browse to the folder where the Nvidia drivers were extracted.
    7. Select the only .inf file that comes up.
    8. Ignore any warnings that Windows gives you as you install this driver.
    9. Restart computer when driver is installed.

Hi,

Your Sony VAIO VGNC Series were desiged for Windows Vista. Windows XP is compatible with this computer as well. The Video adapter installed in this computer Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 950. According to Intel, this video adapter is compatible for Microsoft Windows* XP, Windows* XP 64bit, Media Center Edition 2004/2005, Windows 2000; Linux-compatible (Xfree86 source available). The only way this computer will work perfectly is to downgrade your Windows 7 to any of the mentioned Windows versions.

I hope this works for you. Kindly reply/comment for further assistance. Good Luck!

My vaio sz series laptop lcd have blue lines sometimes in different part. how can I fixed?

Update your video card driver if error remains,
Re-install your video card driver if error remains,
Connect your machine to an external monitor and see if display is ok.
If all of these didn't solve your problem I suspected your motherboard is faulty.

Note: If machine is under warranty no need to pay for the repairs.
