Open Question

My Phillips FWM35 Mini hi fi system has stopped responding to any buttons being pressed. I put it on Eco power by holding the power button on my remote and now it will not turn on properley. I have unplugged it and plugged it back in and held every buttom on there and yet it still remains in eco power mode.

SOURCE: Power on problem

Well this helped me find the relay but I found that after i pulled it off the board that it has some corosion around the metal prongs that hold it to the board. Could not get the relay open to do what is posted above , tryed opening it several times. Not sure if you are supposed to open it but could someone let me know. I am scraping around the prongs to get the corosion off hoping it will help but might just replace it alltogether. Further info on how to open the relay to do what is posted would help, I would appreciate any help, plzzzzz! :)

Hi, I've found the problem. There was a closure in the Sorround Amlifier, and the protect circuit stopped the whole receiver. Br., csdombi

SOURCE: unit won't turn off unless unplugged. when on,

It may be caused by the economy mode, but I doubt it. If you can't turn it off with either the power button on the unit or the one from the remote then something larger is going on, possibly damaged hardware in the machine. To turn the eco mode off, when your unit is on push the eco button and then use the multi jog or the up/down arrows to select eco off....

If it won't let you do this then this receiver has some serious hardware trouble...

Let me know what you find, just reply here.

Thanks
Tim

Direct Code Entry

  1. Press and hold the SETUP button until the red indicator stays on, then release the SETUP button.
  2. Press and release the desired Mode button (TV, VCR, etc.). The red indicator blinks, then stays lit.
  3. Enter the 4 digit code from the code tables. Note: after a valid code entry, the red indicator turns off. For an invalid code, the red indicator flashes.
  4. With your device on, press CHANNEL UP. If the device responds, no further programming is required. Note: If some buttons do not operate your device, try one of the other codes for your brand.
Code Search If after trying "Direct Code Entry" your device does not respond, or if your brand is not listed, try doing a search of the code library for your code by following these steps.
  1. Manually turn on the device (TV, VCR, etc.) to be controlled.
  2. Press and hold the SETUP button until the red indicator stays on, then release the SETUP button.
  3. Press and release the desired Mode button (TV, VCR, etc.). The red indicator blinks once, then stays on.
  4. Press the CHANNEL UP button repeatedly (up to 300 times) until the device to be controlled changes channel. The red indicator blinks, then stays lit.
  5. Press and release MUTE to install the code. The indicator light goes off.
Most users will want to store VCR codes under the VCR button, Cable codes under CBL, etc. If you want to store a VCR code under CBL, etc., first follow the procedure for Direct Code Entry and press CBL in step 2 of Direct Code Entry, then enter ANY VCR code in step 3 of Direct Code Entry. Then follow the steps above for Code Search.
OK.

I have a hitachi ax-m68d hi-fi and the remote no longer works. I bought a oneforall replacement urc-7562, but the manaul does not contain the necessary code. Is there anywhere that I can get this code,...

You can find the remote control codes for different brands of devices from
http://www.hifi-remote.com/ofa/codes-tv.shtml#tv

If none of the codes work then we have two other solutions:

1. Searching For Your Code

If you have tried all of the set-up codes for your brand of equipment ,or your brand is not listed, and you are still not able to get the unit to respond, try the following procedure to search for your code.
If you don't find a code that works, the remote will flash four times when you reach the end of all the codes for this device type.
  1. PRESS the button for the device you want to program, (TV, VCR, CABLE, etc.), then RELEASE.
  2. PRESS and HOLD the SETUP button until the red LED flashes twice, then RELEASE.
  3. ENTER 9-9-1 (two blinks on the remote)
  4. ALTERNATE slowly between the POWER key and the DEVICE (TV, VCR, CABLE, etc.) button until your device turns off. (On VCR, LD, and CD players use PLAY instead of POWER)
Make sure that the remote is pointed at your device during the search, You may have to press this sequences of buttons up to 100 times to search the entire library of codes.
  5. When your device turns OFF, PRESS the SETUP button and RELEASE it to lock in the code for your device.

hope this may help;
