My son just moved his 50603 projection TV. It's dead. Checked all 4 fuses and connectors to see if any thing loose. Nothing obvious. It does arc somewhat when you attach the power to the rear board. Capacitor charge?

Good Day, wecalvin;
Suspect fluid on the PCB's.To find suspected liquid on the PCB's, remove the front speaker cover and the small board held on by 5-6 screws. Look at the first 3 to 5" on the PCB. Use bright light it's not always easy to see. If fluid is spotted remove the boards from the back of TV. Use small brush, like old tooth brush, and acetone. You can get acetone from hardware stores Look for rusted wires or parts and replace as necessary. Good Luck, big IRISH.

Convergence IC's inside of your TV are nearing end of the life. If during adjustments that you made Red and Blue was moving in all directions (left, right, down, up) than resistors and fuses still probably OK. IC's (part number will start with "STK" and they attached to huge aluminum radiators) have to be replaced and fresh heat sink compound have to be applied. After that convergence adjustments should not be a problem. And color will stay together for another several years. regards. Russ.
DAVE; Sorry about your problem. .....The TV's board has been damaged by the fluid, causing the PC to have poor/open trace connections. These boards are double trace, circuits top and bottom, so, you have many 'feeds'. You might be able to find some one in your area to repair them. New boards from factory are not available. Some places, factory , will rebuild these boards, it's not an easy fix.
Good Luck, big IRISH.
Check these two areas: 1. CHECK IC700 PIN 4 (AC-OFF) FOR 0 VOLTS DC, IF HIGH, CHECK FOR LEAKY D980 PART # 264P045040 ON THE MAIN PCB. 2. CHECK FOR 4.7 VOLTS DC AT CONNECTOR RF PIN 3 AND 4 ON THE SIGNAL PCB IF LOW SUSPECT PROBLEMS WITH THE SWITCHES/BUTTONS ON THE CONTROL PCB PART # 935D394001. 2). CHECK FOR 10 VDC AT PIN 5 OF IC502 OF LOW, CHECK IC503 PART # 270P704010 ON THE MAIN PCB. 2. CHECK R529 .82 OHM 1/2 WATT OFF PIN 4 OF THE FLYBACK. IF OPEN CHECK C411 2200 UFD @ 35V AND IC 451 PART # 270P064020. ON THE MAIN PCB. Good Luck, big IRISH.
