Question about Craftsman Garden

1 Answer

I have a craftsman 32cc weedwacker gas trimmer, model # 316.791890. I have taken good care of it since I had it. Loaned it out once to be a nice guy & now I have problems. Replaced the plug to the proper gap, cleaned the air filter, put in new mixed gas, cleaned the spark arrestor & adjusted the carburetor. It starts just fine & idles but when I give it a little throttle it wants to die. Please Help. Thanx, Ray

No more Mr. nice guy. But it sounds like your just out of adjustment, try readjusting your high idle screw. Good Luck..

Was given a craftsman 32cc weedwacker. no manual. need to know what fuel it takes.

The website just says gas/oil (http://community.craftsman.com/Craftsman-Convertible-32cc-Gas-Line-Trimmer-reviews?tab=details). I'm not sure what that means. But on the Craftsman Community web page (http://community.craftsman.com/community) there is a link that says Feedback and Support. If you click that and fill out the form, someone should get back to you.
Hope this helps!

Craftsman 32cc would not idle

If you are certain that you have correcting gaped the plug then the next step is to readjust the low end idle carburetor. If you look you should see two holes in the plastic cover that lead to the flow adjustment screws they may even be out in the open. If they are not labeled H and L (the L is the one you want), check your manual for the correct one. A good place to start is turning the screw all the way in then backing it out 1 1\2 turns. Then check it. If you still have problems do 1\4 turns out. After about one full turn from that you might want to consider taking the carburetor off and removing the float bowl or the bottom for a good cleaning. A sticking float could cause problems with your fuel flow.
Hope this helps.

Craftsman weedwacker keeps dying

If the weedwacker runs OK on 1/2 choke or even better on full choke then most likely the cause is the carb gaskets are stiff and can no longer pump the fuel. Of course make sure the fuel lines are are the right ports (return and supply). While you have the carb apart clean all of the passages with carb cleaner.
