First off you should switch to a high definition cord. But the yellow one will work for you. Just simply plug it into the yellow cable on the back, then switch to that input, the two sound inputs (white and red) will be next to this yellow input.

I fixed it but thanks for your help anywho, I had the Y+W+R plugged into video 1 which would only play the sound not the video. I simply plugged the Yellow into video 2.

How to connect DAV-HDX265 to xbox 360 and TV

Your HDMI cable handles both audio and video. If you would like a "one" source output you need to have a reciever that has multiple inputs with one output. You would then put your audio out from your souce device (xbox, tuner, record player...etc.) to the input of the reciever. Every device should have a different input. From there you would just switch your input selection to what you would like to hear. Let me know if you need a bit more guidance and I will get more detailed. The RCA connection (Red and White) are your stereo leads or (left and right) You will need the yellow one for video..it is separate.

Memory or video Issue?

Try unplugging everything and letting it sit for a few minutes. 10 is a good safe number. Plug everything back in and try again. If this doesn't work, you have a serious issue that microsoft needs to address and fix.

Can't get XBOX 360 to have audio through surround sound speaker

Make sure that you have the RC Cables (red and white) plugged into the audio ports that coincides with the component video inputs. If that wont work then try plugging the audio and video cables into the inputs for the satellite, since that works. That way you can isolate the issue. If it still wont work try using the XBOX 360 HDMI cable. That has both audio and video.

Xbox 360 wont work on my Tv now - always been fine before

Hi...

Make sure the switch on the 360 A/V cable is in the right position. Also unplug everything from the unit and plug it all back in again.
From the reading I've done on tech issues the 360 has a lot of temporary issues like that.

Surround sound hookup question?

It looks like all you'll need to do is hook up audio out from DirecTV to audio in on the surround sound system. Sony has an interesting hookup recommendation guide on the product support site:

http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/model-home.pl?mdl=DAVC700&LOC=3

That should give you the connection options. The short answer, though, is to connect the best audio out from DirecTV to an audio in on the surround sound and then choose that option in the surround sound system when you want to watch TV.
