Question about Soleus MC-88 Indoor/Outdoor Party Fridge

Open Question

Iown a soleus mc-88 fridge. I noticed today the sides are hot to the touch. Doesn't seem right, but never really noticed so can't tell if this is normal or not. seems to be working fine but I'm concerned that it may be a fire hazard. Any thoughts?

SOURCE: SOLEUS KFHHP-22 - Heater doesn't blow air at all, warm or cold. Cooling works great but no heat.

Doesn't matter how hot it was when installed, there still should have been proper start up performed. That means running unit thru all cycles and checking charge. If it was installed this summer then installer should warranty service to return and complete install properly.

SOURCE: My Soleus dehumidifier has stopped working after one year.

Buy a new unit, put the defective one in the new unit's packing materials and return it for a refund.

The 15 sec burst sounds silly to me but you were right to let it settle for a while before starting although 45 deg should not harm the fridge at all. As for the heat on the sides if the unit is working well (cold enough in both sections and shutting on and off) then I would suggest it is fine. If the fridge is working hard the gas entering the condenser is up to 150 deg. F or more it can be very uncomfortable to touch even after travelling a distance to the sides of the unit.

I have a soleusair party fridge.model MC-88/MC-88S/MC-88SB

It's your fan, take the wheels off, unscrew the bolt that holds the wheel bracket on, take the screws out of the black plastic surround and pull it off the bottom. The unit is connected so don't pull out too far. The fan is plugged into the "motherboard", just use pliers to unplug, take the two screws out of the fan and look for a replacement. No, Soleus does not sell parts. Look at a computer repair store of your choice for something similar.

Fridge running hot!

One you can to try and extend the life of the fridge is to vacuum off the compressor and coils. They can be located either behind the toe grill on the bottom front or through an opening on the back of the fridge. It is natural for a fridge to blow warm air.

It sounds like your compressor is going bad. The part you mentioned being hot is normal.

Overheating, seals on Roper side by side are hot to the touch

Hi, When that strip gets hot, it is a sign the temperatures are not cold enough. Put a thermomitor in the freezer. You should get a reading of 0 to 5 above. If not, let me know and we can try and get you through this.

Thanks
Vic

Freezer not freezing and fridge not cooling

Check the back wall of the freezer for ice buildup.
If yes, a defrost parts problem.
Check the freezer fan. Is it running?
If no, replace the freezer fan.
Check the condenser fan at the compressor. Is it running?
If no, is compressor hot?
If compressor is hot replace condenser fan motor.
If compressor is not hot.
Replace the compressor start relay.

Clicking noise coming from whirlpool refrigerator

The clicking sound is a relay called PTC relay. You need to replace it. First be sure to unplug frig. Remove the cardboard cover that covers most backs of the frig units. Remove the plastic cover that is on the side of compressor. It is held on with a metal clip. Now you should be able to see the relay pry the relay straight off. note the wiring and position of relay. Only three prongs on compressor. Go to a parts house for appliance's and with your make and model number should be able to get a new one. Let me know if you need any more help. ken
