Motor dies after burning off fuel prime

if it only runs on prime then it is starving for gas. take the gas hose off at the carburetor make sure gas comes out in a flow. if good flow. take off fuel bowl if you see any debris or water then you need to take off the carburetor and clean it really good with cleaner and put in a new needle and seat. make sure float moves easily. if you clean and install a carburetor kit it should run as it did new.

Troy Bilt model no 12AVB26M011 won't start, changed spark plug still no start

The most common problem is the carburetor. Some have auto prime and some have a prime bulb. If the prime blub is defective it can keep it from starting. The carburetor float/needle valve could be defective or stuck. Get a can of carburetor cleaner and remove the filter. spraying a small amount into the carb, try starting. If it does start it will run only a few seconds. This will tell you the problem is in the carb. If it does not fire or start you could have a defective coil or a sheared flywheel key. Another thing that can keep one from starting is the kill switch not opening when the safety handle is in the operating position. Hope this will help ya.

My quantum xts 50 after priming wont fire

does it start when you prime it or does it not start at all? if you prime it and it runs until the prime burns off then won't start again, try priming it again. If it starts and runs until the prime burns off again then it is a carburetor issue. It isn't supplying the engine with fuel to run after the prime is gone

Model P0450N205 serial# 052510M041507 when prime

Check your fuel filter if you have one, normally they will be located in the fuel tank.
If the mower/weedeater is over a year old, then I recommend that you buy and install a new carburetor repair kit, because the diaphragm will get hard and that will cause it to be hard to crank.
Sounds like you will need to clean the carburetor or replace your carburetor internal rubber parts like the diaphgram and O rings.
Be sure to use compressed air to blow out all the fuel and air passages.
Be careful when blowing out the passages, because there are sometimes small rubber type seats in the bottom of some of the passages.
Sometimes you can get by with priming the carburetor or using starting fluid and letting it run a few times like that and it will flush the gunk out of the jets, but most of the time you will need to rebuild the carburetor.
Keep in mind that the float for the carburetor must be level when you go to reassemble the carburetor or follow the instrucitons you get with the carburetor kit.
When you clean your carburetor and remove the jet screws, you will first need to lightly seat the jet screws.
But before you lightly seat the jet screws count the number of turns it takes to seat the jet screws from their original position.
Be sure to mark the turns down on a piece of paper.
That way when you put the jets back in, you know to lightly seat them first and then turn them back out to their orginal position before you started.

My chainsaw (Homelite UT10514) will not prime fuel. I have changed the primer bulb and checked the fuel lines for damage, they seem to be in good shape.

You need to make sure the lines are connected properly to the bulb. Also, if the carburetor diaphragms are not working properly the carburetor will not prime.

primers pull fuel from the carb and dumps it back into the tank, so if the bulb will not prime the chances are the fuel filter in the tank is blocked, pull the fuel hose through the filer hole and replace the filter on the end.

Sounds like you will need to clean your carburetor.
Be sure to use compressed air to blow out all the fuel and air passages.
After cleaning and before you reassemble the carb, be sure to "set" your float level, turn the carb upside down and make sure the float is LEVEL and not tilting up or down
Sometimes you can get by with priming the carburetor a few times, and letting it run a few times like that and it will flush the gunk out of the jets, but most of the time you will need to rebuild the carburetor.

PRIMER BULB WONT PRIME

I would recheck the carburetor to make sure you put the diaphragms next to the carburetor and not the gaskets.
Please if it is not priming you may have the fuel lines hooked up wrong. Also check the fuel cap to make sure the vent assembly is there. If the tank is not venting, the tank will get a vacuum in it not allowing fuel to flow.
