Have you checked the batteries in your mouse? They do need to be replaced.

Advent wireless mouse AMWL13 works for 30 seconds then freezes

Sorry to hear you're having that problem, Karen. I was unable to find the model # that you posted, but I DID find something for an M312 wireless mouse made by Advent:

http://www.adventcomputers.co.uk/forums/advent-printers-and-peripherals/advent-m312-wireless-optical-mouse-freezes-problem

If you look at the response to this issue, it lists everything I would've typed in here to suggest trying. Wireless peripherals are a "strange animal", in that so many different factors can influence their optimal operating condition. Hopefully something in this article can help you, and good luck! :)

Check your wireless connection. If you are using a wireless adapter or USB linking device, ensure that everything is plugged in properly. The best way to do this is to unplug the device and then plug it back in, making sure everything fits snugly.

Try to re-sync your mouse with your computer/adapter. If your computer came with wireless networking capabilities (such as Bluetooth) and your mouse uses this signal to communicate with the computer, go to your computer's control panel and turn off the network for a few minutes. Then reboot the network and see if the connection to your mouse has been restored. If you are using a wireless adapter, go to the wireless utility that your computer uses to manage the wireless mouse (this can usually be found in the "programs" section) and repeat the above process.

Look at the bottom of the mouse. If your wireless mouse has a trackball, try removing the cover and cleaning the individual wheels on the inside of the mouse with a Q-tip. If you are using an optical mouse, then try cleaning the bottom of the lens with a soft tissue and a frugal amount of glass cleaner.

Ensure that any drivers needed for the mouse are still installed. Although it is unlikely, the drivers that facilitate communication between your mouse and computer may have been accidentally corrupted or erased. Try visiting the mouse manufacturer's website to download new drivers.

God bless you

Everything was working fine. I changed the batteries in the mouse - wireless keyboard works, mouse doesn't. I took batteries out of both, unplugged receiver, and started over. same problem!

Only thing Ican suggest is the batteries in the mouse are in wrong, or you have a bad battery. Try swapping the batteries from the mouse to the keyboard and see if the trouble follows.

My 2 year old son got hold of my Logitech wireless mouse, and coincidentally it has stopped working. The batteries have been changed, but still no joy. Could something have been pressed to disconnect the...

Yes, it sounds like something has been pressed.

There is a small button underneath your wireless mouse, and a more prominent one on the receiver connected to your computer.

To pair the mouse to the receiver, press the button on the receiver, then the button on the mouse. That should fix it up.

Turn off all other "wireless" devices (cell-phones, wireless telephones, iPhone) in your home, and see if the light on the receiver is "solid" on.

Replaced Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse 2000 doesn't work

I would have suggested opening up your old mouse and cleaning the right click button first.

Generally, wireless devices have a connect button that finds the frequencies of the devices. On the receiver press this button, then press the button on the bottom of your new mouse. the receivers lights will stop flashing once connected.

Wireless mouse locks up

I would suggest investing in a USB mouse. They never have this problem and are very cheap to buy. I have found that wireless mice are prone to problems. I would say there is a problem in the connection between your mouse and the laptop but this sort of problem is quite hard to find. As I said, you are better off with USB mouse.

Neither the logitech wireless mouse or the wireless keyboard will work

Without the specific model keyboard/mouse involved, it is a little difficult to point you to the exact solution. However, I would suggest making sure that your installation of the controlling software did not get corrupted. Additionally, check the physical components and make sure all connections are intact and nothing was damaged (cords, batteries in place, etc.)

Additionally, very likely that the receiver needs to be "reconnected" to the keyboard/mouse. See here for an example of this issue related to the MX600 model. It is also suggested to ensure that you have the most recent version of the SetPoint software installed. (This should not have had an impact on functionality simply by moving it, but doesn't hurt to be current!)
