Question about Canon PC-795 Copier

1 Answer

No paper jam and no copies

The paper jam icon (figure 8 with zig zag) never goes away. I put a brand new toner cart in. Still no copies. Absolutely no paper is jammed. Help! Any ideas. I'm ready to replace it, but I'd like to get the use out of the cartridge and then put it on the street.
Thanks.

Canon pc745 not copying. error symbol 8zig zag line. there is no paper jam and just loaded brand new toner. please help

Hi steven640,

That symbol you are getting is for a paper jam. The figure 8 represents the rollers and the zig zag is the crumpled paper. Since you have already checked the machine for any possible paper jam the next thing you can do is to reset the printer. Here's how:

1. Turn the printer OFF, when it is on, by suddenly and sharply unplugging it from the power source.
2. Also unplug it from the computer!
3. Leave it that way for 10 minutes.
4. Plug it back in.
5. Turn it on if it didn't turn itself on. Wait for it to initialize.
6. Try printing again.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Purchased new ink cartridge for my Canonpc940. Lost direction book. I have installed it. It is a little bit loosed. When I turn the copier on a little flashing icon lights up and flashes. The icon...

The figure 8 with a check mark is the paper jam indicator. The machine thinks there is a paper jam somewhere. Just check the whole machine inside and out, including the bottom paper tray. Hopefully you can get the jam reset and make sure the toner is ok. As long as the box that the toner came out of has E20, E31 or E40 you should be fine on the toner.
Good Luck and Thank You for using Fixya.

NEW COPIER AND THERE IS A LIGHT ON AND I AM NOT ABLE TO COPY WITH IT,. TWO CIRCLES W/A ZIG ZAG LINE. AND I DON'T HAVE A MANUAL. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT.

I believe that is the Paper Jam light you're referring to.

Those two circles are supposed to be rollers and the zig zag is the jammed paper.

Be sure to check EVERYWHERE for a jam and move the rollers if they will let you.

Poor Printer Quality

If you have the old drum put it back in and see what happens to the copy. if is better, then yu may have a bad new drum. They do have them. Poor copy quality is normally drum or toner in these Brothers. This model is an excellent machine by the way.

Print out blank pages after clearing a paper jam

Have you checked the obvious things? Such as pulling the tape off the new cartridge? Also make sure the transfer roller under the toner cart. is in securely.
