I have a ohn Deere 345 and seem to have a small amount of fuel leaking through the exaust manifold to the mulfler. The mower runs great and the small amount of fuel burns off quickly when started but when engine is off the problem regenerates. Can you help with this?

Check your float height, or maybe there is a pin hole in your float and is has some fuel in it. Take the float out and shake to see if fuel inside. I had a similar issue and it was a leaking float. Good Luck..

Sounds like a fuel delivery problem. Filter? fuel tank outlet clogged? fuel shutoff valve not completely open? Other issues.

Hello my name is John. I have a 345 John Deere lawn tractor. The problem is that it starts idles rough won't idle up and does not run strong enough to move the mower. It just chugs and puffs white smoke...

345's have a habit of the choke sticking at the carb.Another problem they have is the fuel pump diaphram will crack and allow your engine to fill up with fuel,to much fuel in crankcase will end up past the rings when not running and smoke pretty bad when fired up.

You may try blowing backwards from behind the fuel filter into the gas line. Not to much air pressure though. Make sure the gas cap is off.

My John Deere 345 dies for no apparent reason

You have dirt in the fuel tank and it sucks the dirt up on the filter that is attached to the pump. After the machine stalls, the dirt falls off and it will restart and run for a few min.

check the tank for debris blocking fuel outlet. also change fuel cap as it could be pulling a vacuum on the tank.
