Opening instructions manual for sentry fireproof electronic security safes. Insert the tubular sentry key into the lock to the left of the key pad. Turn the key all the way to the right until the plunger pops out. Press the five-digit factory code. The green Proceed light will come on. Pull the handle down; to crack the sentry door open.

These are the instructions from sentry on this. If the safe will not open after following the instructions, they require you to contact their customer service. If this is new and not been used then you should take it back where you purchased it and let them know of the issue. You can try and force the door inward while pulling the handle, sometimes the locking bars get tight in their slots and makes it difficult to open. You may need a locksmith to help with this if the door still won't open. There are either 4 AA batteries or in some cases one 9 volt battery that has to be replaced .. in some models you slide off the area under the keypad to get at the battery .. .. as the battery ages it has enough current to operate the display but not enough to operate the unlocking mechinism .. once you have it open make sure the mechinism works freely even lubricate itbut don't use a gummy type of oil, use something light like sewing machine oil.

The other things that sentry recommend is to puch up or down on the hanled while entering code in case a piece of paper or such gets caught in the mechanism. They also recommend tapping 5 times on top of the panel and 5 times on sides with a rubber mallet to free up the mechanism if it is not moving. My guess it is the battery under the panel!

    Good luck on this!

We believe there is no solution to your problem as lack of opening lock on a periodic basis leads to moisture build up rusting the lock shut. If your model is still under warranty it ca be replaced. Call A1 Locksmith for additional info on drilling it open.
