One of 2 problems may be present, first may be the floating ball, it may not be getting back to the correct position and there fore cut the water supply off, as it should, you can check to see if this is the problem by lifting the arm up a bit and see if the water stops flowing, if it does then to fix this i bent the alloy arm that was holding the floater a little more in the down ward position, if not the problem the the rubber seal at the bottom is most likely not sealing properly, may just need a wipe around, a bit of a tight squeeze, turn the water off first, have a go
