Question about Garmin GPS
This is a software problem.
First, reset the unit and try again.
If resetting doesn't solve the problem, re-update the map via the computer's internet. Re-updating the map most times solves problems like this.
Lastly, non of the above seem to solve the problem, remove the memory stick (if any) and turn the unit on without the memory stick/card and observe if its still going to freeze. Sometimes the memory may be corrupted and cause the unit to freeze.
You didn't state the model of the unit, if not, I would have directed you on how to reset the unit and do the update. But I believe you are able to do these....
