Question about Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) Console
Hi there. This is known as the Yellow Light Of Death. It's name says it all. This is an error that occurs with the first Generation PS3's and up till now there aren't exactly a perfect solution. I can give you some tips though.
1. If you still have your warranty, send it back to get it fixed. Most likely they'll give you a new one.
2. In case your warranty is not valid, then the second option is to remove all cables from the PS3, then cover the PS3 is a blanket and then take a blow dryer on low level and gently blow the PS3 through the ventilation area for a few minutes. The heat from the blow dryer will affect the motherboard present and might allow it to work on next boot.BEWARE this might work. The problem has not been fixed unless it is taken apart. I will give you a link to a tutorial made gilksy1 and he disassembles the PS3 completely and then fixes the problem.
Hope this helps.
