SOURCE: I have a GE cord and cordless speaker model:

If you mean you'd like to add another handset to the base unit on this phone, I'm afraid you can't. This isn't a multi-handset phone and isn't expandable. If you want the kind of system that has the main base unit and several separate handsets, you'll have to start fresh with a new system. They aren't expensive.

Need new battery and I have a NiMH battery replacement. Can I use it on my phone? I have model number 25838GE6-A.

NiMH is a universal replacement battery. It will work in place of nicad and other types of rechargeable batteries, and will work with virtually any charger

Makita cordless driver drill model-6347d. ni-mh rechargeable nickel metal hydride battery 1834 18v 2.6ah will not stay charged. battery charter dc 1804- works great.

You say will not stay charged? Over what time period? Are you aware Nicad and NiMh rechargeables discharge naturally at 1% per day so where does that leave your power tool after 3 months? Furthermore they only have around 1000 charges in their useful life so you can immediately see how these tools are not for intermittent(ie handyman) use.

Battery died and or charging system failure

I think its probably your only choice, NIMH batteries are known to have a very short shelf life if not regular charged / discharged you can get GE cordless batteries here - GE Cordless battery

How to extend battery life

Naomi
-great question
-the answer depends upon the battery type used in your phone
-look on the battery itself for one of the following letter types (NiCad, NImH, or Li-Ion)
-if the phone is fairly new....sounds like it...the it is most likely Lithium ion....which is great!
-to answer your question then...
NiCad-yes
NImH, -no
or Li-Ion-no
read below for further details

-if it is a NiCad (nickle cadmium) then YES....try to BUT this is a challenge...as it will then 'die' when you least want/need it to
-this battery type will develop a false memory....where it thinks it is dead or fully charged when it actually isn't....very irritating
-a better solution is to every so often do this...run it right down...recharge...run it down...etc.
-this will remove the memory as it build up..just the nature of this technology

if the battery is nickle metal hydride (NiMH) then use as normal...no memory buildup..these are excellent on many fronts

last most commonly used is Lithium -ion (Li-Ion)....which is almost now the standard for high drain devices like your phone (cameras, etc.)...these DO not develop a memory...last long periods of time without use..etc

-there are a few other types of rechareages...but I';ve never seen them in phones

-if you need any other help...jjust ask...please!
-hope that FIX-Ya'd you...please rate me....and note that anything other than a FIX-Ya will actually reduce my rank....I didn't make the system...so please consider the impact of your ranking :)
