Question about Intel D865GBF Motherboard

1 Answer

I have a D865GLC board - when I try to power it up, nothing happens. The power supply's fan also does not run. I tried replacing pwr supply, no change. I was wondering if the P4 chip went, or if it's the motherboard. Tks.

The problem is with the power supply .. try to handle it by someone expert you may damage the board and power supply if the board is not for the right power supply ,moreover there are jumper settings also .so be careful to play with power... my suggestion is that you take both to a
professional

do vote if it helps

Just bought a new motherboard and have hooked it back up nothing happens when powered up fans come on notheing else

1. You may have a power supply issue.
2. Try removing the power supply and replacing it with a know good one with the same specifications.
3. the power supply is giving the +12 volt to the fans but not to the rest of the board.

Gateway 507GR Wont Power-On after a power surge.  Had slight hissing noise in the Bestec power supply, replaced it, and it still will not always power-on. If I switch the a/c power on/off really fast...

Sounds to me the like soft on/off power switching in power supply itself is not working. Try another supply or if u have a tester try that. Wont be the motherboard or nothing at all would be happening.
Hope this helps

Nothing happens when I press the power button. No

What about the power supply? I bet it's supply's issue. Otherwise make sure that PWR button wires are connected properly and to the correct terminals of the motherboard

No power

An AT power supply must have current draw to turn on. Remove every component not needed for boot ( Floppy, Hard, CD DVD Fan. Leave on Motherboard and CPU and Fan. With header connections connected ( HDD led, PWR on, PWR Led and speaker ) push the on switch and make sure the back of supply doesn't have a switch. Does anything happen? Write me back if you want and we'll try to get some juice out of the supply.

Gateway 200arc motherboard problem

If there are two wires running from the power button on your case to the motherboard, take them off and try jumpering those two terminals with a jumper or something that will make contact for just a second and them take back off. Your power button may have fried along with the power supply.

Two sets of power leads to motherboard from pwr pk, 1 x 20 pin and a 4 pin, when the 4 pin isn't attached to the 8s651mp-rz motherboard the fans spin, the mother board light comes on, but then does...

The 4 pin connector is required as it provides the power for the CPU to run. if nothing is happening with the 4 pin connector plugged in then there is a problem. You need to make sure that you Power Supply can supply enough power for what you are connecting to it (400W would be the bare minimum with no high end video card, 500W would be recommended). You also need to make sure that the Power Supply is connected properly because some Power Supplies from pre-built systems from companies like Dell are wired differently than the standard power supplies. The only other likely problem is that there is a short on the motherboard either from the mounting of the motherboard in the case or from something on the motherboard being bad. Make sure there is no metal touching the motherboard except at the holes used for mounting.

CPU does not start

Hi, have you tried removing all the cards (video, lan etc) and all power connectors to drives? Run only your mb. If problem persists then it is possible that there is a short in the mb since the psu auto protects and shutoff. You can also try removing the retaining screws of the mb and try running it completely off the back panel. Care should be taken to ensure that the back of the mb does not touch any metal part of the casing. You can try sliding in between a plastic folder or something. If psu still shuts off, then you it is most likely the mb is fried. Please let me know if this works out for you. Regards
