Startup problems did you ever figure out how to resolve the problem with the hp laptop not starting up, the beep thing? its driving me mad

    There is a faint burn smell from the CD/DVD drive side zv6130us.

I have a quanta 3082 MB in a HP Pavilion zd8230us laptop when I startup it beeps constantly got any ideas? anyone


The beeps with have a pattern to them. Listen closely when you first turn the laptop on and listen for the pattern. It might be something like 1-3-2 (1 beep, wait, 3 beeps in a row, wait, 2 beeps) It will repeat for listen for a bit to make sure you have the correct pattern. Once you have that pattern got to the HP webpage, in the support section, in the search type in "beep code errors". It will give you a list of beep patterns and tell you what the problem is. It could be the RAM, it could be another problem with the motherboard; those codes are what you need to have first.

Laptop running slow and keeps freezing on pages need to reboot system but i dont know how to restart

could you please tell us the make model and operating system that you are using
and what exactly is wrong with your laptop and is there any particular thing you are doing
on it when it freezes

My HP G60-120US notebook displays windows boot manager at start up after a continuous 45 seconds beep. return key now needs to be pressed to continue.

right click on "My Computer"
Go to properties
go to Advanced system settings
then Advanced tab
then startup and recoverty "settings"
untick time to display list of operating systems or change that figure to "0"

Compaq laptop/no boot up


Hi,

Initially it may be suspected that your laptop is detecting a hardware problem, probably the hard disk. Since it partially boots and there is display, the following can be ruled out: video card, memory and display systems. That would leave us the hard disk and the motherboard left. If the motherboard is in question, chances are it is the BIOS.

Pls try and verify that the hard disk is connected snugly. The hard drive is usually inside one of the slots covered by a panel/lid held by a single screw.

If your concern has not been corrected after completion of the above procedures, further diagnosis may be required.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Startup problem


Hello,

My name is Vikram Kumar Thumu, from India-Hyderabad. I have seen your message on the issue related to startup issues on your Laptop.. I would like to provide my suggestions on the issue. I hope that this should work for you and will resolve the issue.


Well, let me tell you. This issue could happen due to following below possibilities...

1. due to Bad RAM.
2. due to BAD Hard -Disk
3. Due to Operating System ( Windows XP Professional) corruption...

To isolate and to resolve the issue, please try below solution.

firstly, we need to test the Hard-drive Functionality.... below steps will hep you to test the Hard-Drive..

Steps are :
---------------

1. Turn off your laptop. wait for 3-4 minutes...
2. try to restart the Laptop, immediately press and hold F10 key.., this will get you into BIOS utility screen...
3. In the screen you can see Main, Security, Advanced... so on options. Now try to locate to option that says " Diagonistics or Tools ". and then select it.. and then select the option " Hard-drive self test( quick test).

Note**, Mouse will not working in BIOS screen, hence use up and down arrow keys to select the options...

The purpose of this solution is to test the Hard-drive functionality,....

Once if you select the Hard-drive self test option, it under goes the test... and reports a message at end of test...

Make a note of message. and let me know... .Each message would have different issues. Hence, make sure that you make a note of error message and let me know the complete message...

Okay???

Anyway, let me tell you few error... if it says like .." 1-07 failed Or 2-07 failed". This confirms that Hardware is bad. And hence replacingg the Hardware will resolve the issue for you...

If you receive any other message that says like test if ok... then it confirms that Hardware is fine. and need to perform the next solution...

Solution 2:
---------------

Second possible issue could with RAM. Hence, I recommend you to test the RAM. Please manually remove the RAM cards from Laptop( for this process please refer to user guide for instructions on RESEAT OF RAM).

Once if you remove the RAM cards from Slot of Laptop. then check for damages on cards and also in slot. If you find damage on cards then replace the new RAM cards.

else if you find the damage on slot, laptop needs to be serviced. Then contact service center.

However, at this moment, there are few situations that only ram card will be gone bad. Few Laptops, come with 2 RAM cards. Hence, to isolate this factor try to swap the cards and check the issue by restarting the Laptop.

Else check the issue by put ting only one ram card and restart the laptop.

This should generally isolate the issue.

But******* be careful, that you need to remove the battery and also remove POWER cable that is connected to Laptop before you try this solution...



if every thing is fine, then only possiblity left is Operatingg system.

Then please go ahead and reinstall the operatingg system... this will resolve thee issue.

As per my experience, I guess on Operating system issue... Anyway please try all the solutions that I recommend you.

This is a manufacturer trouble.
Starts with WiFi troubles, then no screen and no start with 1 long and 2 short beeps.
