Question about FUJIFILM FinePix S3200 / S3250 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Last night the s3200 was knocked out of my hands. It hit the floor and nothing smashed, but the metal casing around the lens bent in the slightest amount. The camera now always thinks the lens cap is on and won't even try and focus. Would this be repairable? Thanks

Not if you want to risk damaging your camera further, no. The metal casing around the lens is very rigid and solid, only an impact or great force could dent it (which is the case when you dropped it,) so straightening it out would be quite impossible. FUJIFILM has a great customer service so just contact them via their website (http://www.fujifilmusa.com/support/ServiceSupportContact.do) and they'll replace the dented metal lens casing.

Good luck.

I don't know how to remove the lens for fujifilm s3200

You don't.

It may look superficially like an interchangeable lens camera, but it's not. The lens is permanently fixed to the camera.

Get a can of compressed air, attach the included straw, aim it at the crevice where the body and lens housing meet. Now give it two or three good blasts and power the camera at the same time to see if the lens retracts, if not! take the palm of your hand and gently hit in a circular fashion on the side of the housing and power the camera in the process to see if it will work loose, this will work most of the time with small camera's. Like anything there is risk in making matters worse, but the only other option is a camera technician which will be on the pricey side.

My needle keeps hitting the bobbin casing...have switched needles incase bent....have tried moving needle position..still hitting casing

Your timing is off. There should be a ruber belt behind your hand wheel, if you take off the case around it; you should be able to adjust your timing of the bobbin casing.

Needle hitting metal casing .. Singer Futura CE 200

It happend to me aswell , not getting the source of the problem!
Then I noticed that the bobbin casing was out of the original position, take the whole casing out and make sure that when you put it back that the small metal tension loop at the front side on the right is correct, this image you can see in your handbook, (placement of the bobbin casing)

Needle is hitting the round , turning case that revolves around the bobbin

It sounds like your timing is off because what you're describing is exactly what happened to me last summer. I took it to a sewing machine repair shop and they repaired the problems, gave it a nice cleaning and it was like new when it came home. But it took two weeks (not a lot of repair shops around here) and that was torture as it's my only machine!!! :)

Lens wont retract

I did the same thing to my camera (twice) and I just took it back to the place where I got it. Since it was within the 6 month return period- they let me exchange it for no charge.
They told me that when the camera hits something while the lens is out, it knocks the lens out of its groove, which is why you can't get it to retract.
