You can still have bad backlights lamps, that is why the transformer is squealing due to poor connection on the wire at the lamp connection, the output of the inverter voltage will try to go up to keep the lamp firing and draws too much current and cause the inverter circuits to shutdown. The inverter has two detection circuits: over current and open lamp sensing (it will sense if the lamp will fire up and stay on).
Look for burnt/harden wires on the lamp assemblies.

No Picture and Lttle red light next to power buttons blinks for about 30 seconds

First thing to do is reset ( see link below) and see if it resets otherwise if problem continues it will need some work

Seven blinks - High voltage shutdown. The high voltage has exceeded 33k and the unit goes immediately into safety shutdown. Check power supply regulation and horizontal circuits. There are some common breakdowns in the High Voltage circuits in this set. One is the flyback transformer. Another is a small high voltage capacitor in the sweep corrction circuit. There is a cap that goes open in a high voltage circuit (C6532) which needs to be replaced.

Vizio VT470M no picture, no sound, no backlight. Power supply board looks good all voltages appear correct (24V, 5V, and 3.7V) and no "bulged" capacitors . When I unplug unit for two hours, the...

Im having similar problem and with my limited knowledge of lcd tvs and the voltages ALL being good except the pwr on or sw on voltage from the main board to the power supply which tells it to switch everything on Im guessing that something is going wrong on the main board. In the condition where it freezes it (the power on V) which switches everything on i get varied voltages such as 2.5 or 3 or (the normal 5v) and then when nothing powers up (blank screen) i read 0v on pwr on voltage but all my other voltages are corect (24v to inverter, 12 v to main board, 5v, etc.) Im guessing from researching this is that there is in improper voltage somewhere in the main board circuit. I have been unable to find it so i may order another board and post back.

What causes a 32c110u screen to blank off after about 2 seconds of powering on.

Good day.
This are the procedures to find out the causes:
  1. Open the back cover by removing all screws.
  2. Power ON the TV to perform voltage data.
  3. Check the output voltage of power supply if there's a 5vdc for main board,12vdc for sounds and 24vdc for the inverter board. If any of the 3 is missing or having voltage drop. The problem is on the power supply, check some open resistor or leak/bulging on top capacitor.
  4. If your power supply is OK and the 3 supplies that mention above are complete and no voltage drop and your TV is having sounds but no picture.Check output voltage of the inverter board it should have 500vdc so be careful.
  5. If the 1 to 4 steps are properly work the problem is the main board.
I hope this solution will be helpful.Thank you for using Fixya for assistance and good luck.

Every ten to fifteen minutes the screen goes blank and no sound then in about 5 seconds the picture and sound comes back on, Vizio tv 42 inch, this also happens when when a cd is being watched

It can be that the 12/24vdc power supply go into shut down mode due to short circuits in the backlight inverter board. You need to check the output voltages of the power supply with and without the backlight inverter board connected to the power supply.

Screen Blinking

It is in truth, the picture tube, but it would be helpful for repair shops and independent techs to educate the customer as to the investment risk of repairing an older "S or V" model Sony. Generally, the pix quality deteriorates gradually before the Ik circuit senses the problem and cuts off the pix.Unfortunately, you were not able to observe any pix problem because the set was dead when given to you.The power supply repair was obviously needed, but the pix tube condition was unchecked/unknown.Before spending any money on repairs, try to find out the historicity of a particular make/model from a willing, qualified technician.

Lamp Light comes on afer 90 seconds

If you get a pix in the screen and then it goes away I will check the fans and make sure they are running ,it should have at least 2 and one of them should be cooling the lamp,if you never get a picture and the led glows after 90 seconds you might have a ballast problem, the ballast is the board that powers the lamp and it receives voltage from the power supply to strike the lamp.Be careful when working in the back.
