1 Answer

My GE Profile Dishwasher Model pdw7880n10ss does not clean. Food sitcks to the dishes and food is at the bottom of the dishwasher when the cleaning is finished. It has not cleaned from day one. I have had GE repair men here a few times but it never fixes the problem for any length of time.

check to see that the jets of the spray arms are not blocked. Sometimes small pieces of food get into the arms and block the spray so it doesn't clean the dishes well

Our Ge profile Dishwasher is not cleaning the upper level dishes, mostly glasses and coffee cups. The insides are bumpy with dried on food. We have cleaned the bottom filter.

Before loading into the machine you have to remove food particles. Washer will wash the greasy surface. If particles are left in the dishes, the same will find entry to the drain system. Check the drain filter in your machine. Clean them. Mostly problem will be solved!

Dishwasher leaves food particles on dishes

You are not getting enough water in the machine. The inlet valve is probably plugged with sand or something of the sort. You will need to replace the inlet valve.

GE Profile Dishwasher not cleaning - older PDW7880GOOSS

My GE Profile Dishwasher PDW8280N00SS wouldn't clean the dishes. I found what looked like plastic particles along with food particles in the wash arm spray holes. I found that heat had warped the gray flat filter in the bottom allowing food particles to bypass the filter, and I found that the flexible plastic sump inlet was disintegrating internally shedding plastic which clogged the filter to the pump and getting into the pump. This shouldn't happen. The material that the sump inlet is made out of is too soft and porous. I noticed other components in the wash water system made from the same white flexible rubber which is an unacceptable material. I bought replacement parts at a cost of $100 for both and this has solved the problem. What's distressing is that the replacement parts appear to be made of the same inferior plastic. And I have noticed upon closer inspection that additional interior parts appear to be heat damaged (warped). This dishwasher has been used less than 4 years and problems like these in a high end dishwasher are unacceptable.

Some of the dishes and glasses are not coming clean

Either the nozzles on the spray arms are clogged, or there is not enough water pressure spraying.
You can clean nozzles with tooth pick
