I would start by checking the condition of the fuel filter and fuel lines and progress to the carburetor from there. Make sure muffler is clear and air filter is not clogged. Your symptoms have all the signs of a dirty carburetor. Post back after checking condition of fuel tank, fuel filter, fuel lines, muffler, and air cleaner, and spark plug also.

Just curious if a solution was found. I've got the same problem with an SRM-210 Echo wee trimmer. I just rebuilt the zama carb with a new kit. Now, it seems to start up fine and idle. However, when the throttle is pulled, it will speed up then die out. It's acting like it's starving for fuel. I've already replaced the fuel lines and air filter. I did find a small white plastic needle valve type pin with a tiny o-ring just under where the primer bulb and diaphragm plate sits. This o-ring seems to have a tiny pinch in it. I'm going to replace it tomorrow. Not sure but will this bad o-ring cause a problem like this throttle problem?

    Thanks much,
    Robert

If after rebuilt, the Zama dies on acceleration, then try opening up (counterclockwise) the Low speed (L closest to engine) mixture needle on the carb 1/4 turn, if this isn't one of the newer rotary -type carbs. I haven't rebuilt or tore down a rotary carb yet.

Runs fine then it trys to die and runs very ruff acts like its starving for fuel changed fuel filter and still does it ?

Check the fuel pump pressure.
Also; when you use gas with ethanol, it attracts humidity that can turn into water during storage.
The answer is premium fuel.

Why does my briggs and straten model 313-707 hard start then dies after a few seconds when it is running it acts like it's starving for fuel replaced fuel filter fuel cap and cleaned carb

Try replacing the plug.could also be a spark problem from the coil .you can purchase a spark tester which you can fit between the plug and lead .pull start mower and watch if spark is good.if ok then get a can of carby clean start mower and spray carby clean spareingly while running and if it keeps going the fuel is the problem

I have a 94 Caprice 4.3 v8 and the past week it will run fine the acts like it's not getting enough fuel back fire real loud and die and it takes bout 10 mins before it will start again then when it does...

not starving fuel but "flooding out" and putting unburnt fuel in the exhaust system which ignites and damages mufflers and cat converters
check for excessive fuel pressure or bad /leaking injectors

Have changed plug and gas. hard to start but will

I would suggest cleaning the carb (remove it) and air filter. There are a few really small passages in the carb that need to be cleaned which get gummed up due to the 2 stroke mixture and sitting for the winter. (Even if you drained the fuel)

DO NOT use a piece of wire or anything to clean out any small passages. Use carb cleaner and compressed air, put it back on, and see if it's better.

If that doesn't do it, a carb rebuild is in order. Not very many parts on those little buggers. If the cleaning doesn't solve it, it's most likely a bad diaphram from sitting and drying out. (Which I'm learning towards due to the lack of pressure when you prime and having it starve for fuel and die after a minute of running). There is a square plate on the bottom of the carb held on by 3 or 4 screws. That's the cover for the diaphram. Remove the screws and plate and look at the diaphram to see if it has a hairline crack, if it's sticking (there's a spring under it), or if any thing else looks out of whack.

Sputters and dies

Do you have the shop manual? You need verify the workings of each part and system one at a time. Follow the working line. You stated you checked the fuel pressure. Where was it checked? At which location? Was it checked under throttle? Does the fuel regulator check out? Is the fuel good (any water)? These problems can sometimes be a bear to find. It takes time and patience. Do one thing at a time and verify that it works properly before moving on to the next part/attack plan. Check all ground conections from the block/engine to the frame/body. Once you verify that the fuel delivery is good, start looking at emission related parts and fuel management parts (TPS, MAF, Cold start injector, EGR, etc.)
