Question about Garden

Open Question

My 'brand new' last autumn Karcher 3550 pressure washer, which had it's first and only use last October (very succesfully) is now spewing water out internally and very little reaches the lance. I quess it's frost damage which I 'now' notice is not covered by the warranty. I don't remember any draining instructions and assumed no water remained inside, woops! Is it even worth opening it up and checking the damage and are spares likely to be easy to fit? Should I try taking it back to 'Focus' or are they likely to run a mile?

SOURCE: karcher hd 5 11/c pressure washer no pressure

Your problem is simply a worn bypass valve on its awy out. It still works enough for mains pressure but can not pressurise when drawing water.

SOURCE: Karcher pressure washer won't start

Dear ralph_birtwi,
Most pressure washers when their gun is released, the machine stops automaticaly. This is done ny means of a control valve. When the gun is closed...pressure is built and the control valve moves and switches a micro switch off. In your case the micro switch is still closed in off position. Now this happens if a machine is left and stored with pressure in it., This control valve could get jammed and leaving the micro switch in off position. It could also stay in off position by sticking, due to incorrect chemical.
So the control valve or even called spill valve, must be renewed.
Sometimes a little lubrication with the right type of silicon grease will get the control valve working again. This job is sometimes delicate and better done by a qualified technician.
Regards,
fulltech.

Spewing water oil mixture from vent cap. What is wrong?

inside the pump ther must be an oil seal broken but also maybe by winter period there was frost on the place and has damaged something i think marketing technical this brand has choiced if something happend by this machine to replace a complet pump because of the price of the complete unit find on internet , this kind of choices are made by differend brands and are on the upgrade Milwaukee tool also has by new machines powertools that same kind of repair there will nobody become happy with, but if it is an oil seal there is no manual to find for or cuff kit . but only a complete pump. its always better to look for a seller who knows if there are spare parts to get for the machine. like the most Brands have for their pumps. COMET Kraenzle Karcher . I think its time for nothing to fix and buy an other Brand so if I can judge it

I have a Karcher 3.49M purchased 8/2/09. Using the washer I inadvertently turned on after changing hoses, but forgot to turn water back on; this activation lasted only a couple of minutes before I realized...

Normally when you dry run a machine you damage the pump so it would probably need changing. The motor might be Ok but for you to fix it you will need to take it to a Karcher dealer/service center.

From experiance it sometimes can be more cost efficient to purchase a new Karcher machine and get the 12 month warranty than spending money on an older machine.

The water must be switched on, and seen to be running freely from the nozzle for a few seconds before switching on the power - suggest you check the fuse in the plug, and then try the above.

Karcher K2.36 motor cut out and won't restart

Yes, the water should be turned on first but if it only ran for a minute or two it should be OK. Most late model pressure washers have an automatic shutoff when the trigger on the wand is released. Turn on the water and then the machine and then squeeze the trigger on the handle of the wand and the motor should start as soon as the air is cleared from the line by the flowing water (about 10 seconds). If the unit was put away wet last season you may need to clean the nozzle with a piece of wire too.

Karcher k 3.99 does not pause correct

Is there a water leaking from the bottom ? If so then there maybe is a small crack in the Pump Plastic Manifold Housing. A New Manifold Complete Replacement is approx. $61.03 from Karcher, if you are mechanically inclined.
If under 1 year old, and you can find a receipt,Karcher will replace the whole Pressure washer under warranty.

Brand new 2.36 leaking out of case when using it?

quite possible the seal where the water enters or exits the pump isn't tightened all the way on. Sometimes the electric washer are sent through the lines missing seals.
