Question about Heating & Cooling

1 Answer

There is an Artic Stat RCT 1000 that also controls the MasterCool Evap cooler besides the remote, but the stat does not talk to the cooler to turn on or off. I have no manuals descibing the way they communicate between each other.

Choose a location within 20 ft of the AdobeAir remote control evaporative cooler.
Slide the ArticStat along the wall to find a good position for the thermostat- one where the cooler lights will light up.
While holding the thermostat against the wall, put the thermostat in "locate" mode by pressing the up/down triangles (located on the far right) at the same time as the C/F button (lower left, middle). LOC will appear in the digital display panel. This cycles the cooler between "off" and pre-wet at 2 second intervals.
You will see the lighted buttons on the cooler grill keypad illuminate as an indication that the thermostat is communicating with the cooler. If the cooler grille keypad does not illuminate, chose another location on the wall and repeat the steps until proper communication is achieved.
when a location is chosen, push the on/off button to cancel "locate"mode.
These instructions should be on the drop down panel where the batteries are located.

Mastercool plus 6500 thermostat problem

Posted also on the Cooler quick cycling problem:
My Master Stat Controller (CC2000A Rev 2003) was in 2 parts. The Thermostat unit in the house and the Power Control unit in the Cooler. The power Control unit was mounted on the squirrel cage fan housing so it vibrated some when running. That means the components vibrated slightly with respect to the PC board. Especially the larger components. My first symptom - Intermittent failure to turn the water pump on. I could see a faint crack in the solder around the pin of a relay on the PC board. Re soldering the PC pins solved that problem. Later, the second symptom was quicker than usual on-off cycling of the fan. I re-soldered all the pins on the PC board and all problems subsided. A better mounting place for the Power Control Unit would be good, but outside of the cooler might be a thermal problem here in the hot desert south west.

Our mastercool thermostat does not have any power going to it whatsoever. It is only a 3 year old unit and we have checked all the fuses and wiring which all seem to be fine. We even changed the main...

If it's a 24 volt thermostat, the inline transformer has failed and needs to be replaced. Some are 18 volts, and they require a transformer too. I suspect that's the problem, since the T-Stat is not getting power.

Hope this helps you solve the problem. Please let me know. Thanks.

Our Bonaire Evap Cooler stopped after power failure

Turn the power of to both the heater and the cooler. Turn the power back on to the heater and the cooler at the same time then reset codes on controller.

Temperature control does not work. Unit freezes everything no matter where the temperature control is set (Marvel Wine Refrigerator)

Either the thermostat itself is bad, or the relay is sticking. If you break the connection between the T-stat and the relay, and it keeps runnning, the problem is the relay.

If the compressor stops running when you break the connection or disconnect the T-stat, then the T-stat needs to be replaced.

This unit is a cooling unit only. I don't know what switch you are looking at but I don't think it's for the evap. cooler(swamp cooler). I am in the Phoenix, Arizona area and it's very common to have a evap. cooler and a seperate heat/cool system as on the hottest days the evap. cooler doesn't cool enough. I hope this helps. Please give me a positive rating. Thank you.

A contractor cut the wires from my Coleman forced air furnace, It was hooked up to a stat that ran my evap cooler and heat. I am trying to put in a new straight heat stat but I can't get the stat to...

Does the new stat have a pin labled (G)? Connect your fan wire (usually green) to that pin, and then call for fan on your therm. Straight heat stat means it has only heat and cool pins, there is no option for fan. If your not getting the fan to come on including heat, make sure you have the white wire and red wire connecting to your new stat.
