Question about Emerson MW8987B/W Microwave Oven
Open the unit. On top where mains come in would be a big fuse normally 10amp , its blown. This is almost always caused by faulty door switches. Also check diode from the big cap to earth. be careful the cap can store high voltages even when unit is off.Discharge capacitor first with a wire to earth.Make sure the unit is off.The fuse will also blow if that diode is blown.they usually go short circuit.

Tips for a great answer:
Good afternoon friend, I appreciate your post!
I understand that your Frigidaire microwave display is working but it is not heating up. Based off that information you could be seeing an issue with your magnetron or control panel. It is possible it could be a false miscommunication within the panel. I would try to reset your appliance you can do that by unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker for ten minutes. If that step does not work could you please reply for additional assistance? I look forward to your response. -Matt
