Hi

Attaching the handle--

Looking at the back of the cleaner, make sure switch (A) is in the OFF position.
Slide handle into back of cleaner.
Push screws into holes on back of handle.
Using a Phillips screw driver, tighten screws securely.
Remove switch lock above ONOFF switch on front of handle by pulling it straight out. Dispose of lock.
If switch lock has come off during assembly, make sure switch is in OFF position (down) before plugging cord into electrical outlet.
Remove label from self-propel button.

Attaching the hose--

Align end of hose with projection over slots in dirt duct on back of handle.
Slide hose into and twist hose to lock it into place.
Position hose over rack and into hose tube.

Positioning the tools--

Place smaller diameter end of wand, into bottom of rack. Snap wand into clip at the top. Repeat with other wand.
Align end of hose with projection over slots in dirt duct on back of handle.
Slide hose into and twist hose to lock it into place.
Position hose over rack and into hose tube.
Snap dusting brush (H), crevice tool and furniture nozzle into storage area on back of cleaner.
Open tool cover. The powered hand tool is shipped in a plastic bag for protection. Remove tool from storage area and discard bag. Reposition tool and close tool cover.

Using Correct tools--

>> Dusting brush may be used for carved furniture, table tops, books, lamps, lighting fixtures, venetian blinds, baseboards, shutters, and registers.
>> Furniture nozzle may be used for upholstered furniture, draperies, mattresses, clothing, automobile interiors, and carpeted stairs.
>> Crevice tool may be used in tight spaces, corners and along edges in such places as dresser drawers, upholstered furniture, stairs and baseboards.

Hope this helps... Please post back if you need more information.
Daniel

I am looking for a manual for a Hoover Steam Vac F5821. We want to clean our furniture and not sure how to use it. Got it used and no instruction manual.

Unfortunately, manuals for these older models are no longer available. However you can get the information you need from a newer manual. Go to www.Hoover.com, and click on product manuals on the lower right center. Enter F5914 when asked for a model number and you can get a similar machine's manual.

How to hook up tool to clean upholstery

Keep your upholstered furniture looking fresh by vacuuming it regularly with the upholstery tool attached to your vacuum's hose. Prevent the fabric from fading (or at least delay this) by keeping your furniture out of direct sunlight -- close blinds, shades or curtains when the sun shines most directly through windows closest to the upholstery. And remove stains by blotting them with a dry cleaning solvent. Before steam cleaning your upholstered furniture, read the piece's cleaning code label to determine whether or not it is safe to do so. Then rent or buy a steam cleaner (also called an extractor) and follow the directions below.

  1. Rent a steam cleaner or purchase one; buy steam cleaner solution.
  2. Step 2 Vacuum the upholstery on the furniture you wish to steam clean; use the upholstery attachment to most effectively **** up loose debris.
  3. Step 3 Test the steam-cleaner solution on the upholstery in an inconspicuous place to ensure the color won't be steamed out or drastically altered.
  4. Step 4 Attempt to remove any stains with a stain removal or dry cleaning solution. Follow the directions that come with the product you choose for the best results, and allow the stain remover to dry before you begin steam cleaning.
  5. Step 5 Remove cushions and, if necessary, arm covers.
  6. Step 6 Gently apply the steaming water and cleaning solution in straight lines across the upholstery one section at a time.
  7. Step 7 Use the cleaning extension on the steam cleaner to **** up as much water as possible. The dirt will come out with the water.
  8. Step 8 Clean one side each cushion (then allow it to dry) before cleaning the other side. If the cushions are permanently attached to the furniture, clean them last.
  9. Step 9 Allow the furniture to dry completely before repeating the steam-cleaning process or replacing the cushions.

Does it matter what kind of cleaner I use on the Deep Cleaner Model F5821

Yes it does matter which cleaning solution that you use in your steam cleaner. If you use the wrong cleaning solution it may cause problems with the cleaning solution dispensary system. Different steam cleaners use different cleaning solutions. You should always use the steam cleaner solution for your specific cleaner. I have learned this the hard (and expensive) way.

Hard to recommend this but it will work in a pinch. You can use a small amount of liquid laundry detergent diluted with hot water (about 2 table spoons to a gallon) as a stand in for the real deal. DO NOT put the laundry soap solution into the cleaning solution reservoir (the wax content will clog the soap dispensary system). Lightly apply to the area to be shampooed (do not soak). I have used a plastic coffee can with holes poked in the lid like a watering can to apply the soap solution. Use the shampooer to do the scrubbing and remove soapy water from the shampooed area. Fill your soap reservoir with clean hot water. The laundry soap does most of its job during the rinse. Go over the shampooed area with the shampooer moderately soaking the shampooed area to with the hot rinse water. Remove as much of the rinse water as possible. Liquid laundry soap has a high wax content (makes your cloths soft) and if it is not rinsed thoroughly after it is dry the remaining wax will attract dirt faster than the surrounding areas. Other than that it works for a good stand in for the proper detergent in a pinch. As a bonus it smells great.

From what I understand as unorthodox as it is, it works well in small doses, and I don't believe that it causes any damage to the other parts of the steam cleaner as steam cleaners survive drawing up worse things into them than laundry soap.

I hope that you find this helpful

Good Luck!

  1. Remove your cleaning solution tank and set aside.
  2. Remove the lid to your recovery tank.
  3. Remove the front panel of the recovery tank by sliding it straight up.
  4. Slide the convertor half way down into the same slot. (Curved side down). The opening should be facing upward.
  5. Replace the recovery tank lid.
  6. Open the door marked stair/upholstery cleaning connection.
  7. Press the tube connector with the black tabs onto the projection inside the door.
  8. Replace you cleaning solution tank and you are ready to go.
Note: It's a good idea to turn your brushes off. Also, you may need to prime your hose by turning on your cleaner and holding the hand tool onto a flat surface for a few moments before use.

How to hook the parts for cleaning furniture

How to Clean Wooden furniture The tips below explain how to clean wooden furniture, but an essential part of everyday maintenance is to place protective mats or pads under them to prevent the wood from scratching - otherwise, your efforts will be in vain.
  • If you're wondering how to clean wooden furniture on the regular without much hassle, regardless of the wood finishing, you should get rid of the dust first.
  • Make sure to attach a dusting brush to your vacuum cleaner to remove the dust on your wooden furniture to avoid scratching it. If you do not have a dusting brush attachment, opt for a soft microfiber cloth instead.
  • Then apply a specialized wood cleaning product - always follow the instructions on the label, and choose your product to suit the finish on your furniture. Read on to find out which to use

Furniture cleaning isn't a science: try out a few techniques before choosing the one that is right for your belongings. This step-by-step guide explains how to clean a sofa:
  1. Before using any upholstery cleaning products, vacuum the sofa or chair first to remove as much surface dirt and dust as possible. Be sure to use the correct attachments to avoid damage to the material - a soft brush attachment is ideal.
  1. Spot Clean. Using baby wipes or vinegar poured onto a strong microfiber cloth, apply to any obvious stains, wiping gently as you go. Remember to test the upholstery cleaning products on an inconspicuous area first.
  1. Overall Clean. Using soapy water and a microfibre cloth, gently wipe your sofa with the solution, allowing it to soak into the fabric and tackle the dirt beneath the surface. You only want to use a very small amount of water - don't saturate the material.
  1. Dry. Some people use a hairdryer to quickly dry a sofa, but allowing it to dry naturally is always the better option, if you have the time. To speed things up, open windows and allow the breeze to help with the drying process.
