The recorder taped as programed Monday the 4th,I checked the recorder settings for Tuesday the 5th before the schedule recording time and the date was the 11th instead of the 5th. change the date to the 5th and turned of any auto settings to see if that was the problem. will check the settings tomorrow.

Every time I check the date on the timer recoding after it had finished the recoding for that day it was set to next date but of the following week. I want the recorder to record the whole week and than change the date to Monday of the next week. So I change the recording period from Weekly to Daily. I`m sure this will work.I`ll let you Know.

Hello,

Yes, change the date. To the 4th which is Monday and save it.

But, you will have to make sure the VCR is turned on 24hrs a day, 7days a week. You can just turn it off from the power button and it will be on standby. What I am trying to say is that you should avoid removing the plug from the wall so that the recording time will not reset or be in disorder.

I hope the above makes sense to you.

Good luck.

You should be able to get into a list of timer recordings by this method:
1 Open “Initial Setup” menu
Press the SETUP button or the TIMER button while the DVD is in
Stop or Play mode.
2 Select “PROG”
Use the ??/?? buttons to highlight “PROG” then press the
ENTER button.
3 Select the recording to be deleted
Use the ?? and ??/?? buttons.
Press the ?? button to move to the next setting.

The squares are the arrow keys! You should be able to delete the settings using these keys or some other key.
Next time you set a timer recording make certain you don't set the weekly setting!

I have a Sylvania 6240VE vcr. When I try to rewind a recorded tape, the vcr ejects the video. I was wanting to purchase a dvd/vcr combo, but the reviews for these items are awful. I tried a Magnavox combo....

When you put the player into rewind, is it at the beginning of the tape that it ejects? If so, it may be because you have the machine in timer mode. If you have a pre-recorded tape in a VCR, it will automatically eject the tape because you`ve not to record on a pre-recorded tape. I hope this help, Ian

My LG LRH-880 HDD/DVD recorder sometimes stops recording by itself, before the end of the programming and even if there is enough disk space left.

Somehow, my HDD/DVD recorder recorded correctly 2 times last night, even if I did not do anything specific to fix. I will keep an eye on new occurences of this problem, but it appears at the moment that the issue disappeared by itself.

To schedule a weekly or Mon-Fri program on the DVD scroll back in the "date" box (instead of forward to a future date. You will have options for once a week or Mon-Fri.

How do I find the vcr plus coned to enter into my recorder?

Go to the TV Guide web site:

http://www.tvguide.com

You have to choose your location by zip code and if you have cable, satellite, etc. Then you can choose the day of the week and the time and find your show. When you move the mouse over the show a window will pop up a synopsis, click in the middle of the pop up and it will open another page with info about the show. Scroll down a little and on the left hand side it shows VCR+ and Tivo info. I have not used this feature because I don't know if it will let you set something to record say on a weekly basis. I use my unit to record some TV series which play weekly at the same bat time and same bat channel! Plus this unit has 16 timer record slots, twice as many as any VCR and the programing is much more flexible, Good Luck.

Vcr timed recordings

I'd be pretty certain that every VCR made these days (and of the last 10-15+ years) can be set to do a timed recording. They can be set for a one time recording, weekly or daily record. Whether used with a cable/satellite box, or outside antenna, you must ensure proper hookup. I'm not real familiar with recent cable/sat receiver boxes, but older ones had to be set to the channel you wanted to record, as the VCR will only see that channel. On older cable (no cable box) & outdoor antenna systems, a VCR could tune in and record any channel, while you watched another one. Anyway, check the capability of the cable/sat box, and follow suggested hookup. You will likely need to set the box to the channel you want to record before you retire for the night.
