    Hi,

There is no default printer driver installed

If you have a printer connected to the computer, but you do not have a default printer set up, use the Add Printer Wizard to install your printer and set it as the default.

If your printer is installed already, follow these steps.

    1. On the Windows Start menu, point to Settings, and then click Printers.

NOTE: In Microsoft Windows XP, click Printers and Faxes on the Windows Startmenu.

    2. Right-click the printer, and then click Set as Default on the shortcut menu.
If your printer is not installed yet, follow these steps:

    1. On the Windows Start menu, point to Settings, and then click Printers.

NOTE: In Microsoft Windows XP, click Printers and Faxes on the Windows Startmenu.

    2. Double-click the Add Printer icon, and then follow the instructions onscreen.

    3. When the wizard is completed, right-click the icon for the printer in the Printers dialog box, and then click Set as Default on the shortcut menu.

You also need to install the printer driver if the printer is not on the list. the driver download is already posted on my 2nd post. Thats the reason why i ask you what is the operating system of your computer so that i can provide you the complete step by step guide on how to fix it.

    Thanks.

Computer did not detect the usb attached printer. usb port is in working condition. ( usb device has malfunctioned and window does not recognize it )

ensure that the driver for your printer is installed.
and create a printer in printers.
use your printer wizzard to do this.
once the printer is created connect the printer using the usb cable.
then right click the printer icon in the list or follow wizzard to print a test page
once this printer is in your printer list, you can right click the icon and set it to default printer.
this will then be the printer all programmes will use when printing. or you have to select it when you press print in the file menu of your programme to select which printer you want to use.

I hope this was helpful.

Go to the makers web site and downloads area. there should be options to look for your spacific printer and download to your PC the latest drivers and software. Make a folder ready to download to, and after the download, unzipp the contents back to that folder. Run either the install .exe file from the software you have downloaded or run the printer wizzard in add printers, then chose the option to browse to the folder containing the downloaded software and drivers for your printer.
