Hello,

Here are some steps that are llsited for a similar polaroid model so it may not be exact but it may help.

1. Make sure there's not a DVD in the machine.
2. Power the machine on.
3. Using the remote, press the setup button.
4. Use the right-arrow key to move to the "Preferences" menu.
5. Press these numeric keys on the remote in this exact order: 1379
6. The machine should display the current region. Use the up/down arrows to choose which region from 1 to 6 (or 0/regionless) you want.

Hope this helps. Please remember to rate this information.

Thanks

Why does it indicate 'wrong region'?

DVDs come imprinted with a region code for the geographical area they are sold in. DVD players sold in the same area(s) have the same region code. If you purchase DVDs made for a different region code, they will not play on your player. This is done to prevent piracy and copyright violators. Players can have their region codes changed, but then anything you have already will not play, and you are usually limited to three or four region changes before the player will not allow any more.

Wrong regional disc

Hello mperona,

The reason you are receiving this message is due to the region settings on your dvd player. Dvd players use region settings to allow them to only play dvd's from certain parts of the world. Your dvd player's region settings do not match the region code of the dvd disc.

The only way is to make your dvd player multi region....you will need to post the make and model of your dvd player so I can search for a solution that will work.

Thank you for choosing Fixya!

WRONG Region error . Philips DVD65K

Each DVD player is designed only to read discs froma certian region of the globe, and they are labelled 1 through 6 (or ALL). Australian players are designed only to play Region 4 discs. United States discs are Region 1. It is illegal to change the Region code on a DVD player, so I can't tell you how to do it (ironically, it is the most frequently asked question about dvd players on Fixya.com - global world), but there are videos on YouTube that will show you how to do it - I would just enter "philips region code dvd" as your seacrh term. You won't find that exact model, but one of the codes in the video should work. Note that you will only be able to change the region code three times on a Philips - after that you will be locked out. So change it to Region 1 once, and never change it again.

Click on the link and read the review of your product.
The region is set at the factory for your market for DVD movies in your area. Phillips says the warranty is void if you change the settings, but if you read the review he will tell you that you can make it region free.
Proceed at your own risk.
