Question about Motorola MR350R Two Way Radio

Open Question

My motorola MR350R will not communicate with the other radios. they are all on the same settings but it won't work. and when it is on a main channel (say 4) and a sub channel of 0, all you hear is static like it is broadcasting whatever might come up on the channel. How do i get rid or this so it will communicate with the others again?

If you have already checked both radios have the same code and channel both radios must reicive and transmit between each other check if you have any QT in any display this is a third condition to reicive.

SOURCE: I get static after someone else talks

One of the main causes of static can be a bad battery. If you are using rechargeable batteries you need to replace them every 14-18 months. If you are using alkaline batteries, they have been known not to fully power the radio once your cross the 10 hour mark. Your radio would then be operating in somewhat of a brown out. This would lead to static.

Another cause of static is simply being nearly out of range of the other radio(s).

The burst of white noise at the end of Rx on some radios can be rather annoying. On the basic talkabout radios there is nothing which can be done to solve the problem, other than replacing the radio.

Won't Receive, is there a setting I acidently activated?

You want to make sure you radios are on the same channel (big number on the display) and your Interference eliminator code (small number on the display) are the same. Also, make sure when testing that your QT is turned off.

Not working

This radio may need to be replaced, but before doing so try the following:
Trade batteries with a known good unit and see if the problem moves to the other radio.
Check your buttons to see if one is partially depressed or stuck.
Check to see you do not have the radio set to VOX mode.
Shut off all special features and go back to a basic setting with the frequency and code matching your other units. If it does not communicate then, you have a radio which needs replaced.

How to hack into a motorola mr350r radio and change the frequencies

Hi, Jeremy,

Not Advisable, apart from being illegal, you can cause irripairable damage to your radio.

These radios were designed to operate on specific frequencies only.

My advice....Don't Do It!!!

Hope that answers your query.

Will the motorola mr350r work with the motorola cs1110

  • The mr350 is a standard GMRS/FRS talk around radio and the cls1110 is a business band radio but bot operate in UHF. So if the cls1110 is programed to one of the frequencies I will list then the two will communicate. Otherwise they will not.
Here are the frequencies listed in order of channels on your radio. 1-22.

It doesn't receive any message but it does play the call alarm and sends the speaker's voice.

Check your programming. All the radios must match on Frequency, Code and Qt filter if any. Here is a link to the user guide:

For simple operation, turn off all the special features. Start by turning off the Code (set to zero for off), Qt filter, and call tones. You can add them back in once you establish communications.

Best regards.
