You also could give the terminals that are on the old board and the terminals of the new board and I might be able to match them up for you...

Paragon model 8141-00 defrost timer wont turn.

Is this a used timer?
8141-00 is 120 volt timer.
Is your 120 volt Hot wire on terminal 3 and Neutral on terminal X?
Test across 3 and x for 120 volt.

Don't buy used defrost timers... they always look good when you inspect, but never work when connected... that's why the timer was taken out of service and sold as used timer.
Save the old trippers for use on new timer.

The unit I'm working on has a 1 month old 8145-20ex and now the unit wont go into defrost - The compressor and the evap do not stop and the heaters do not energize. I'm thinking the defrost termination...

Copy following links:
http://waterheatertimer.org/Paragon-timers-and-manuals.html#8145
http://waterheatertimer.org/pdf/How-to-test-Paragon-8145-timer.pdf
8145-20 is 240Volt defrost timer.
The defrost cycle will not begin. This implies that trippers are not in place, or trippers are worn out.... or limit switch is stuck ON or solenoid inside timer has gone bad.
Test across terminal N to X for 240Volt. Because voltage here will stop defrost cycle by activating solenoid inside timer, but continuous voltage will also stop next defrost cycle from beginning. Disconnect wire on terminal X and see if defrost cycle will begin at next tripper. If defrost begins, then limit switch is bad.

Need defrost timer and manual to determine location of part

Unload the refrigerator and remove the back inside panel. You'll see the defrost timer. If all connections are good (which sometimes they aren't) the timer motor is probably bad -- it's an easy replacement.

I'm not familiar with this brand of refrigerator but sounds as if you have a defrost system failure. most refrigs have a defrost timer that you can maually advance into defrost. if you can loate this on the unit then advance into defrost cycle if the heater comes on youll hear a sizzling noise from the ice melting on the heater. this means you have a bad timer. if the heater does not come on then you have a bad heater or defrost termination switch. I tried to find some service info for this mod but was unable to locate anything. good luck peyton

Refrigerator warm, freezer cold

Totally Unreasonable if you don't mind me saying so. The person who told you that story was thinking of an absorption unit more than likely.

Your proble is related to the defrost system of your refrigerator. There is a timer that automatically starts the defrost. It energizes the heaters that defrost the cooling coil. After the coil reaches a preset temperature a defrost terminator turns the heater off for the remaining time on the timer cycle. You could have a bad timer (stalled) which would not start the defrost. Locate the timer and turn the clutch head screw clockwise very SLOWLY until you hear one audible click. The defrost should take place and will be indicated by water in the drain pan under the refrigerator. If after 25 minutes it does not restart in the cooling mode turn the screw once again to the second click and replace the timer.

If the refrigerator restarts after 18-22 minutes and defrost does not take place your problem is in the heater circuit. Open heater or thermostat (termination switch)

GE Profile SxS Refrigerator wont defrost after new heaters installed

The answer to your last question would be yes. You can test for voltage at the harness where you plugged in the new assembly. With the refrigerator defrost timer in the defrost mode do your voltage test. The thermo stat for the defrost does not close until the temperature drops to about 16°F. If you have and Ohm meter you can test for continuity through the heater assembly by testing heater end to end and bypassing the thermo disk. If you have voltage at the first point test where you connected the harness your timer is O.K.. If there is no voltage with timer in the defrost position it could be bad.
