tip

SOME USEFUL KITCHEN TIPS.....!!!

1) To get much cleaner and sparkling dishes just add few tablespoons of VINEGAR to your
dish-washing detergent....Vinegar is a master in cutting of the grease that helps in getting sparkling dishes easily.

2) To clean the spills in Oven just sprinkle some salt over hem immediately. After the oven has cooled
down, brush away the spills with damp cloth.

3) Smelly sponges are a real mess....to clean them just clean them properly and thoroughly and then microwave it
while its wet. Once you see steam arising from the sponge take it out...and be CAREFUL as it will be too hot.
Wash before reusing it, with water. Be sure that there are no METAL components in the sponge.

4) For removing lime build up and hard water from a teapot, just add 1-2 cups vinegar to some water in
teapot and bring it to nice boil. Sim for 10 minutes and then rinse it out.

5) OLD STAINED SINK....To clean and whiten it just add half cup of salt in it and then scrub it
with a lemon over it to get a sparkling sink as new.

Lost directions - how to descale keurig ?

Hello, Here is a tip i wrote, see if this helps you.

Have you ever wondered, 'how do I descale my expresso machine?' First lets us understand what is exactly is scaling. The build up of minerals inside the hot parts of your coffee machine or espresso machine is commonly called lime scale. When lime scale builds up inside the Espresso machine, it slows down the water flow, reduces the boiler capacity and can prevent your coffee machine from working properly. To keep your Espresso machine operational at full order, it is important to descale it every three months. The time intervals between descaling depend upon many factors. Quality of your water and the amount of water running through the machine are the two main factors that decide the frequency at which you should descale your Espresso machine. The more you your machine, more often should you descale it. In some cities, in conjunction with a water filter you can use your coffee machine for a year or more without descaling at all. If you use less water by drinking espressos you'll need to descale less often than if you make cappuccinos.

Descaling products are widely available from stores that sell coffeemakers and espresso machines. Be sure that the product you buy to descale your Espresso machine is intended for this specific use only. Before you descale your Espresso machine, always unplug it and make sure that it is cold. Also, never immerse the appliance in water and nor should you use abrasive cleaning products or scouring materials on any part of your Expresso machine. In case your Espresso machine does not come with a instruction guide or booklet, then use a proper citric acid based descaling solution designed for espresso machines. This should be mixed and prepared as per the instructions on the bottle or packet. Once your Espresso machine has been descaled properly you would not be left wondering, 'how do I descale my expresso machine?', treat yourself to a great cup of coffee. Some popular models of Espresso machines are Krups EA8080 Espresseria Automatic, DeLonghi Magnifica EAM3200S, Krups Nespresso CitiZ & Milk XN 7106 Fire-engine red, DeLonghi Perfecta ESAM5400, DeLonghi PrimaDonna ESAM6600, DeLonghi Magnifica ESAM4200S, DeLonghi Perfecta ESAM5500 and Magimix Nespresso Citiz M190.

Its nan oxo pull out display food scale and the screen reads F when turning it on

My OXO scale has a removable weighing platform. I removed it and wiped off the top of the scale base. When I put the platform back in place and turned the scale on, the display showed the normal numbers and icons. The F was gone.

I can;t find manual and I want to clean my keurig coffee maker

You may be able to find the User Guide for your Keurig machine here:

http://www.keurig.com/customer-service/brewer-registration-and-support/user-guides-and-help

Your brewer should be de-scaled at least every 3-6 months. Scale is harmless, but if left unattended, it can hinder optimal brewer performance. De-scaling your brewer regularly helps maintain the heating element, removable water reservoir and other parts of the brewer that come in contact with water. Better water quality and water heating means a better cup of coffee, tea, hot cocoa or iced beverage. We recommend de-scaling your brewer at least every 6 months (every 3 months if your water has a high mineral content). The de-scaling process involves using 48 ounces of undiluted white vinegar. Full de-scaling insturctions can be found here:

How do you go about "descaleing" the coffee maker? The water does not flow through the coffee capsule very well.

I know that most grocery stores sell a "cleaner" or two next to their coffee filters/coffee makers/kitchen appliances section. These are usually heavily acidic, and will do a great job of cleaining your coffee maker. I've always been wary of acid in my coffee though, so I just use white vinegar. It'll do a decent job of cleaning out the coffee maker. Run a 1:1 mix of water and vinegar through your coffee maker, drain it, then run water through at least twice.

Scaleing/deposits building up in a coffee maker are signs of imperfections in the water. All tap water has it, but if you don't want to worry about it, use bottled or filtred water in your coffee pot. Plus, your coffee will taste better!

New CR2032 battery last about 1 week before the scales say that the battery is dead. Have tried lots of different battery brands and the same happens with all. We only use the scales a couple of times a...

Sounds like the scales have developed a leak across the battery and is draining the power. New scales maybe the best option but before that, have a look to see if there is any spilliage around the pcboard and/or battery terminals.

When i try to weigh something on it it displays 'our2'. And does not work

OUR2 is probably OutZ or Out2, means you have to recalibrate your scale. Refer to your scales manual for instructions on recalibrating, usually you have to turn on your scale, press CAL button, wait till it displays for example 100g, depending on how much your scale can weight, then put that weight, for example 100g on your scale (you can use coins if you don,t have anything else, though be precise as coins can weigh more or less, informationon coins weight can be found in your country national bank site. After you put the weight, it should display OK or PASS, if it's FAIL or the scale turns itself off, it's either broken or the weight is not correct

Might not be the place to ask this ? dog urine in dirt

Hydrated lime, or quick lime, available at most farmer's supply stores or garden centers will neutralize the acid in the soil. This is a problem with female dogs in general. A male will put his scent down without a problem but, the urine of a female is more acidic and will kill the grass. If you don't have access to the lime, just make sure you rinse the area down every day or two, it will help.
Putting down leaves will kill the grass. It is like putting mulch around plants to prevent weeds.
