We had a repairman come in because the dishwasher wasn't working. He said to replace part numbers WD21X10169 interlock switch and part # WD21X10215 module control. I have now replaced both parts and the dishwaher is making a high pitch sound and not working.

GLD2800V00WW GE dishwasher - doesn't stop washing when door is opened.

The OP Michelle writes with the FIX! Well done.

I was able to repair by doing the following: Removed the inner cover and the cover over the interlock switch. The peg and spring between the interlock switch and the other switch (?) flew out. The peg slides in-between two white plastic "legs" that seemed bent. Tried to straighten them, re-inserted the peg and spring. Removed the interlock switch, checked connection was firm and reinserted. Made sure peg slides up and down. Closed everything up and voila! The dishwasher stops when door is opened. No new parts needed!

Hotpoint dishwasher will not start, no lights #143143c8354p10. Econo 120 system

Hello. There is a door interlock switch that allows the system to operate only if the door is closed. If this switch has malfunctioned due to age, wiring breakdown, etc, nothing will happen. I am assuming the model number you have is the HDA2000G04 because I saw where you asked the question on another website. If this is indeed the model, the interlock switch, should you need one is WD21X10261. The timer is WD21X10236. This dishwasher is also equipped with a flood switch on the bottom. Remove the kick panel and check to make sure there isn't a leak underneath causing the switch to trip. I hope I helped you!

Door is shut everything lights up but push start and it dings but doesnt start washing

The interlock switches on dishwashers can be the culprit for many malfunctions. When they sporadically loose continuity they break havoc on the programed sequences of the unit. I eventually removed mine altogether and replaced them with an illuminated manual switch. My dishwasher works great now. The issue you're experiencing was a persistent problem for me before removal of the interlock switches. I have a very cheap GE.

Thermal Fuse

If the dishwasher won't start the thermal fuse might have blown. The thermal fuse helps to prevent damage to the dishwasher by turning off power so that it doesn't overheat. Once blown, the thermal fuse will have to be replaced for the dishwasher to work. The thermal fuse is usually located in the control panel on the control board or mounted to the bottom of the tank behind the lower panel. The thermal fuse can be checked for continuity.

Nothing lights up on the electronic panel, will not turn on

Sounds like you have a defective Maytag repairman.. all kidding aside.. If you checked the junction box underneath the dishwasher and the wires are all correctly bonded together and power is there.. then it seems as if the control board may have been jarred loose from a connector or your door interlock switch isn't made. Was the Maytag Repairman there after you checked the power feed? If so.. he should have checked everything else for you.. Call him back and complaign.. In fact.. call whoever your repair provider is and ask for a manager and explain what happened.. I know these guys are not supposed to do some things but you did not get properly serviced...
Hope this helps..

Door Interlock switch Maytag MDB4100 dishwasher

If the door is not latching well enough try adjusting the spring on the tub it's the male part that goes into the door latch. If that doesn't help you need to replace the latch. It's inside the door. The switch is mounted to the latch in the door so to get to it you have to remove all the screws around the outside edge of the inner door panel. Unhook power before replaceing latch or switch!
