Question about Sport & Outdoor - Others

1 Answer

I have an 8100 ES Reebok treadmill. There is a squeaking noise coming from the drive motor. It is coming from the non-belt side (if facing the front of the treadmill, the left of the drive motor. When the treadmill is turned off, I can manually move the walking belt in the walking / running direction and it will squeak. If I move it in the opposite direction, manually it does not squeak. Also, if I need to lubricate the bearings can you tell me how to get to them to do this. The motor has plenty of power and no other problems, only squeaking. I have sprayed a belt lubricant on the belt and also blown it all out with a can of compressed air (used for computer key boards).

Hi.
the bearings in these machines should be lubricated and sealed for life. they are not designed to be touched.
it sounds like you have done the important bits. belt lubrication and blowing out any debris that may be there.
squeaks like this can be incredibly difficult to find, but can also be incredibly annoying.
the main things that you can do is keep watching to try and find exactly where the squeak is coming from and check for anything wrapped around the edge of the roller.
keep using the belt spray, and the compessed air.
a good grade silicone lubricating spray used at the edges of the rollers, by the bearings and around the motor and gearbox unit may also help but do not get this spray on the belt as it can be very slippery.
squeaks like this can start and stop on their own or develop slowly and go just as slowly.
keep doing the maintenance you are doing, and use the silicone spray as described above.
it may take a little while for the spray to work its way into the bearings as they are fairly well sealed but you should notice an improvement after a few days.
please feel free to ask for further advice if you need

Maybe check for a reset button around the motor/ belt drive. Manually roll the belt a little to free up motor if it's been sitting awhile.

Reebok 8100 es wont go any faster then .4mph

Please adjust the speed sensor, see the diagram, test it for open or faulty, clean it, and tight the plug very well.
However you must RUN the software calibration for easy diagnose, and troubleshooting and fix it. Go under HOOD motor, and follow the steps .
God bless you

Loud squeaking on my Reebok 9500 ES (three years old) from under the hood when the foot hits the treadmills - at various speeds and inclines.

HI,

Its time to lubricate your treadmill.
You must obtain the proper lubricant for your treadmill. There are several different types. Contact your manufacturer for what type is needed. Using the manufacturer provided allen wrench, loosen the walking belt approximately 10 full turns on each side of the rear roller. Apply approximately 1/2 ounce of lubricant directly in the middle of the walk area underneath the walking belt upon the deck. Retighten the rear roller 10 turns on each side. Run the treadmill at 6.0 mph for 2-3 minutes to spread the lubricant evenly. Wipe excess lube from the sides of the belt. Walk on treadmill to check for proper tension on belt.
for make it easy for you I have added a video. ok

Squeaking noise from tread

usually when a treadmill begins to make a squeaking sound it means that the belt needs to be lubricated. Try Treadmill Belt Lubricant available at Canadian Tire for $10.99 and is good for Reebok treadmills.
